Using My Digital Studio and the Silhouette Cameo

I could barely contain my excitement to show you this My Digital Studio Hybrid project today! When Heather told me she wanted to do a hybrid project I get a little tense.  I tend to stay in my comfort zone of clicking out digital scrapbook pages more than anything. Today, not so!

My Digital Studio Hybrid, Toil & Trouble, Halloween

Today you will see a little bit of everything and a few tricks for embellishing.  I started this card by using the new Witches' Brew Designer Washi Tape and covering a piece of cardstock measuring 3 x 3 3/4 as shown below:

Witches Brew Washi Tape, Stampin' Up!

Once all the Witches' Brew Washi Tape covered the cardstock I trimmed around all of the edges with my scissors.  Now it's time to use the Silhouette Cameo.

I started by exporting my Hexagon punch from My Digital Studio and importing the SVG file into my Silhouette Cameo.  Once there I lined up hexagons to fit the 3 x 3 3/4 cardstock that I had created with Washi Tape.  Now it's time to send to the cutter.

Silhouette Cameo, e-Cutter

I put my settings on Heavy Cardstock and placed the blade at 7 since the Washi Tape would be thick.

It cut through the Washi Tape beautifully and now I was ready to get my card created.   You can see the photo above how I placed the Hexagons that I had the Silhouette Cameo cut.

You may be asking, why didn't I use the Hexagon punch to create the same affect? I wanted to use the Silhouette Cameo so I could adjust the size a bit smaller than the Hexagon punch would allow.  With the Silhouette Cameo I can cut ANY size of a hexagon I want.

Below you will be able to see all the supplies I used on this card.

As many great Halloween stamps that I own, I still wasn't happy with the greeting choices I had.  I decided to print my own from My Digital Studio and I love the way this turned out.

I just love the layered embellishment look and creating a hybrid project allowed me to use the best of both worlds.  I was still able to touch and feel the fun of paper while using the magic of My Digital Studio.  Really, it doesn't get much better than this.

I sure do LOVE our new Burlap ribbon and loved adding it to this card. You can see I also folded a 7/8" Scallop punch in half just to add something different.
