17 Years Ago I said “I Do!”

Like the ole' saying goes, time flies when you're having fun.  17 years ago I said "I Do!" to an amazing man and military life.

After a very short romance…4 months we decided to head to the court house and say our vows.  Of course this did not go over very well with my Mother in Law at first, but we promised a bigger wedding 6 months later.

While that was a beautiful wedding we've always celebrated July 11th.

I still get butterflies in my belly.

He still makes me giggle like crazy.

He always knows how to make a bad day good.

He is my everything.

Of course let's not get to carried away. He is a man.   He has his moments.  He just doesn't have as many as me.

This is what I fell in love with 17 years ago…

My Everything

I didn't know 17 years ago I would live out the life of my favorite movie… "An Officer and a Gentleman"

Tell me you watched this movie…

Seriously have watched that movie at least 20 times with my mom.  It wasn't the life I wanted being raised an Army brat.  Today I wouldn't change it for the world.

***Heart is pitter pattering!***

Here we are at the Justice of the Peace…

There was no time to go buy a dress.  I borrowed my dress from my mom.  My wedding band came from Wal-mart as we drove to the court house.  I still wear it today.

I Do (1)

Such great memories and many more to come.  I'm looking forward to this next move and our adventures in Pensacola.  Everything is coming full circle as we travel back to where we met.

Before I go I have a card to share.

  Bootiful Occasions, Stampin' Up!

This card was made using Washi tape and the Silhouette Cameo.  Very similar to the card I posted Monday.  Click HERE if you missed it.

  1. Happy anniversary!

I watched An Officer and a Gentlemen quite some times. I married a F-16 pilot 20 years ago.

  2. Congrats. You sound like such a beautiful couple.  We will be married 13 years next week. Funny about the walmart ring… I don't have expensive wedding rings but I love my rings and have never "traded up" because they remind me of where we began, how far we have come and how much we have accomplished together.  "Never underestimate the power of two"    Happy Anniversary and Cheers!

  3. Always love a great story such as yours!! I hope your anniversary is terrific!! Your words convey the love in your heart which in turn warms my heart to hear!! Congrats you two!! Love the pics!!!
