Omitting Technique!

Omitting Technique!

Hold me back because today I am pretty darn excited about something- Omitting Technique.

Well, it’s actually not anything NEW, but I think you will like the card I’m sharing today and the video that goes along with it.

First, let me tell you I’m not a huge fan of Poinsettia’s.  The reason is not a secret it’s honestly because I cannot for the life of me keep one of these plants alive.  I have a pretty green thumb, but not when it comes to this plant.  They hate me and quickly shrivel up and die.

Funny thing is, I buy a new one every single year only to watch it die and meet the trash can if I can savor it until Christmas day.  Sometimes it doesn’t make it that long.

One thing I cannot kill is a stamped Poinsettia.  HOWEVER, this stamp set was giving me a few fits.  That’s southern for PROBLEM!

The Reason for the Season stamp set is a beautiful stamp set on page 31 of the Holiday catalog and even has the Festive Flower Builder Punch that coordinates with it.  Perfect bundle to make beautiful 3D Poinsettia flowers.

But… I didn’t have time to really mess with the punch the other day and I wanted to use the stamp set.  I had a couple of ideas in mind but nothing was coming together right.

Then I created this….

Omitting Technique, Reason for the Season stamp set, Stampin' Up!

How it all started!

This card was totally inspired by a BIG FAT mistake. The irony is quite telling!

I was stampin’ along when all of a sudden I decided to stamp the leaves in Garden Green.  For whatever reason it looked completely off.  I almost dumped this entire card into the trash… but then I got an idea.

I decided to cover up my big color mistake and cover it up by creating the focal point at the top left of the card.

All of a sudden this card just came together and isn’t it perfect that Jesus is the center? Right where HE should be.  This is where the omitting technique came into play.

No, we are not omitting Jesus. We are making Him front and center just as He should be in our lives.

If you are unsure what I mean by the Omitting technique, watch the quick video on it today.

Bringing it all together!

Just as the stamp set title says, Jesus is the reason for the season.  I might have just created my personal Christmas card for this year.  This sweet simple card is very duplicatable for doing mass production and I love that my focal point draws you right to Jesus- the reason for the season!

The omitting technique is another inspiring way of looking at the beautiful Stampin’ Up! stamps we have to offer.  Take a look at the sets you have in your stamp room and see what other stamp sets you could use the omitting technique on.  You will be quite surprised.

You can see all the products I used for this project below.

Have an awesome Monday and make something pretty.
