Grateful Bunch- Wednesday WOW!

Grateful Bunch

Get ready for bright and happy with the Grateful Bunch stamp set AND something new I’m trying out.

Hope your ready.

Welcome to Wednesday WOW.

My purpose for this new series is to share how you can create a quick and simple card or if time permits add a few additional supplies to create a WOW.

Let’s face it- Some days quick and simple is what needs to happen.  Time in the craft room might be sparse but you want to create.  I love to create a WOW card but the reality is TIME.  Sometimes I want to make 10 of the same card and time is not on my side.  I need quick and simple.

Heres the thing- quick and simple can be a WOW. I also want to share how you can create a card with basic supplies.  I hope you enjoy.

Let’s break it down and start with the Quick and Simple card.

Create it!

Grateful Bunch stamp set, Stampin' Up!, Wednesday WOW,

To create this card you will need 3 coordinating inks.  I used Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Tangelo Twist.  They are bright and happy colors and made the flower image really pop.

  1. Stamp the images randomly onto the front of Whisper White cardstock base 4-1/4 x 11.
  2. Stamp one flower using one of the coordinating inks onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Fussy cut the image.
  3. Stamp your greeting onto Whisper White cardstock scrap and Die Cut using the Tags and Labels Framelits.
  4. Adhere the die cut under the 1″ x 4-1/4″ piece of designer paper.
  5. Adhere this across the Vellum using dimensionals.
  6. Adhere the piece of White Cardstock Vellum over the center of the Whisper White cardstock.
  7. Adhere stamped flower above greeting and add a button into the center.

Embellishments that WOW

Now stamp the same card but let’s add a few layers of embellishments that are budget friendly and you can get a lot of use with.

Grateful Bunch stamp set, Stampin' Up!, Wednesday WOW,

Essentially the same card but I’ve added a Tea Lace Doily over the Vellum.  I’ve also added a small Gold Foil Doily to give the card a little extra sparkle.

Instead of one flower, I stamped three in the colors I used for the background and fussy cut.  The greeting is the same, but placed where the Tea Lace Doily just hangs a smidge below it.

The Bermuda Bay flower was attached using a Dimensional to add a little dimension.

Comments

  1. I love them both. Sometimes I just like a simple card, but I also love doilies and these look great with the extra flowers.

  2. I like the more simple one because it shows off more of the flowers underneath the vellum.

  3. Great color combo, especially when all I see out my window is snow. Love the doilies and layering. Thanks for your project.

  4. love the bright and cheery colors that you have chosen! both cards are lovely but since I am partial to doilies I will pick the ‘stepped up’ version

  5. I really like the card with the many embellishments but they are both pretty. I probably would make the simple card because I’m never sure how or what to add to make it “more”. Thanks for the idea!

  6. I like them both but I think on this card, less is more is true as less embellishments shows more of the beautiful stamping & bright color flowers under the vellum. Nice work!!!

  7. Both cards are gorgeous, a nice touch to make us think “spring”. Gold & doilies go together! OK, vellum is awesome too!

  8. Both of your cards are so beautiful but I think I like the one without the doily. Your work is impressive!!

  9. Totally awesome cards! I tend to like simple. So…..I’m loving the one without the daily. Thank so much for sharing your creativity. You are truly an inspiration!

  10. Wow, Kimberley, that is a gorgeous stamp set and one I probably would have overlooked if you didn’t showcase it! I love both of your cards, but am really drawn to the simple one. Those flowers are just too sweet!

  11. I love the more ornate card with the doilies and bling. Unfortunately, I still don’t like a button that doesn’t have twine through it!

  12. Oh, to receive a card from you in the mail…what a dream. 🙂 I love them both and whoever receives them will be a happy camper. I always seem to go to the step up style of cards. I have to remind me myself that it’s okay to keep it simple. Thanks for always sharing your beautiful artwork.

  13. Love them both! Of course the wow one is my favorite though. How did you attach the vellum? Would love to see more of this type of post–simple and Wow.

  14. I like them both but the little doily just spoke to me to be my favorite. Plus the 3 flowers are better than 1! Plus the little sliver of the gold shining through. But, I like the button embellishment better on the 1st card for the color. Love the velum treatment. If I get this stamp set, trust me I will be CASing away! Love both!

  15. Love them both but since we must choose the second one. Seeing your cards has given me the courage to have more layers and dodads! Thanks for making me stretch creatively.
