Over the Rainbow-Stampin’ Up!

Over the Rainbow

There is Gold at the end of the rainbow, right?

It’s what I’ve always told my kids but now that they are Christians, we talk about the rainbow a little bit different.  We talk more about the rainbow being a sign of hope.

When I lived in Colorado rainbows were seen all the time.  Here in Florida I don’t see them as much.  Of course I haven’t seen much rain for that matter.

Changing Things Up

Like I said in my post the other day I’ve been trying to change things up a bit and trying to grab some of my very neglected stamp sets from the Idea Book & Catalog that have sat dormant for awhile.  My Over the Rainbow set had not been touched at all and it was a set I originally purchased for Alexis because I knew she would love it.  After stamping with it myself, I love it too.

I did a quick blending of ink to resemble a crayon look throughout the letters of the rainbow.  I used a Blender Pen and inks that you can see below in the supplies.  I fussy cut the word Rainbow which was painless compared to other things I’ve fussy cut.

I added a strip of rhinestones at the bottom to have a little bling on the card.

The gold thread behind the Rainbow words was my way of adding a touch of “gold” to the card near the rainbow. How do you like that? Ha Ha.

Reminder of Hope

Over the Rainbow would be a great set if you want to send a card of hope.  Of course there are great greetings in this set to send wishes such as good luck, sunshine and even tell someone to keep looking up with days seem gloomy.  I’m afraid Alexis will have to share this stamp set as I’ll be using it again.

I hope your weekend is filled with all amazing things as we gear up for the big day of Christmas.  Russ is putting the Christmas lights on the house.  To say I’m a wreck about that would be an understatement.  All I can see his him falling off the ladder.  He’s a man… you can’t tell them anything.  I’ll be there to catch him.
