World Scrapbooking Day
Happy World Scrapbooking Day to you!
Today is a bit exciting as I have a fun International World Scrapbooking Day Blog Hop to share with you.
You may be just starting here or have come from the amazing Ilse van Vliet blog.
Either way you can make your way around by using the list at the bottom of this blog post, so that you don’t miss a blog and a chance to be inspired by the scrap lay-outs, Project Life pages and/or scrap mini-albums our talented group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators have created!
Let the fun begin!
I decided I would work on an scrapbooking album for each of the kids and wanted to start with a cover page for the album.
I loved building this page and started with a clean blank slate. I had tons of ideas when starting this layout and then it just evolved. I LOVE when that happens. After being in a creative rut for a bit, it felt great to find a bit of mojo.
Building the Page
Starting this scrapbooking layout I began with a few products on my desk and then started layering working on the left side first to showcase my photos. Here are a few of the products I had on hand.
- You’re So Lovely Project Kit (excellent kit with die cuts and perfect for scrapbookers)
- Shine On Specialty Designer Paper
- Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum
- Timeless Textures Stamp set
- Project Life Moments Like These stamp set
I uploaded my photos to the Becky Higgins Project Life App and used a template to create 2 x 2 photos. I love how tiny and fun these photos are and they are a direct reflection of my sweet Alexis and her infectious laugh. You can see my post from Wednesday HERE where I share how to use the Becky Higgins App to print your own photos using a Canon Selphy Printer.
The Shine On Designer Paper with gems speaks to my page as she truly is a gem. I love the polka dots on the Fancy Foil Designer Vellum because it adds “fun” to the layout. The clip and die cut you see around the photo come from the You’re So Lovely Project Kit. <—— It’s a MUST buy. Truly one of the best kits.
The tiny little blue triangles come from the Memories in the Making Project Life Kit. It’s one that you will swoon over. Think Ice Cream, Good Times, and Balloons. Perfect to capture birthdays and so much more.
Moving over to the right side of the layout, you can see I added a few more strips of designer paper and then stamped the “Life” onto Whisper White cardstock to sum up the entire page. This will be Alexis’ life. This stamp set comes from the Project Life This is the Life stamp set. GREAT set for scrapbookers.
Another favorite I added was the Silver Glitter Tape that you can receive FREE with a $50 product order. Oh this tape is a piece of heaven. Easy to tear and add’s so much to a project.
Another fun piece I did for this scrapbooking layout was added a little watercoloring using Soft Suede ink and my Aqua Painter. It was a quick brushing of color, nothing fancy. Another favorite I added was the gold balls and stars from the You’re So Lovely Project Kit. These are little gems in that kit. WOW!
Now it’s time to visit the rest of the hop and see the amazing scrapbooking talent from all over the world. This is my favorite part. Grab a cup of coffee or your favorite drink and take in the inspiration. If you are not much into scrapbooking, look at it from a crafting point of view. Take snippets and see how you can apply it to a handmade card.
You can see all of the products I used for this layout at the end of this post. Use the clickable links to shop online.
If you get lost on the hop, just click one of the links below to follow along.
