Ultimate Pink Blog Hop
Welcome to the first ever Ultimate Pink Blog Hop! Its pretty amazing when Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all over the globe can get together and share ideas using nothing but PINK!
Why All the Pink?
I was instantly drawn to this blog hop for many reasons. Most importantly to bring awareness.
Back in 2007 when I lived Colorado Springs every year we had a large successful event called Stampin’ for a Cure. This event was all about bringing awareness to breast cancer and raising local funds to help support those affected.
9 years later this event continues and brings joy to those that attend. Although I don’t live in Colorado Springs anymore, the day of the event my heart is with the demonstrators working this event. They put their heart and soul into it.
The Numbers Are Staggering
Each year we had a speaker talk to our group about the statistics and support that is available in the county. I remember hearing the statistics of 1 in 8 would be affected by breast cancer.
The numbers were staggering to me. Looking at a room filled with women I loved dearly, I knew one day I would see someone walk through the doors only to tell me they had breast cancer.
That dreaded day happened but I was thankful she came so we could love on her and show our support to her.
Let’s Encourage
One of the ways we can encourage each other is to remind each other the need for screening. Let us remember to take care of ourselves by getting the proper screening on time. (I’m due!!) Be proactive!
Let’s not forget our friends celebrating their fight of being a cancer survivor either. It is a day of celebration!
May we continue to love and support them, always!
Today’s card is just that, a celebration of being a survivor.
Many of my friends are survivors and they celebrate each year as it passes. Today I’m celebrating them… what better way than the ultimate pink blog hop?
Tips & Tricks
The Designer Tin of Cards stamp set has a great selection of greetings to choose from and perfect for this card.
- Start the background with a quick watercolor wash using Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo and Watermelon Wonder inks on Watercolor Paper.
- Use the Rock n Roll technique for the large greeting, celebrate your day. Simply stamp the greeting with Flirty Flamingo first, then roll the edges of the greeting again using Watermelon Wonder ink.
- The love & support greeting was inked with VersaMark, and then heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.
- Other “pink” products that helped the design come together was the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper and Fancy Frost sequins.

Simpy beautiful Kimberly!
beautiful card… now I must go back to find my tin of cards stamps… did not know that love & support was part of that set… thanks for sharing!!!
Great card and I love the tips you shared! Thanks for hopping along with us!
I am the 1 in 8. For the last year I have been fighting stage 3 invasive ductile carcinoma. I’ve had surgery, gone through chemotherapy and just finished radiation. I have more surgeries and daily medication to take. God has been good to me through this. I am so thankful that it wasn’t stage 4. If you are told you have dense breast tissue a mammogram alone may not be enough. MRIs find things Mammograms don’t. My tumor didn’t show up on mammogram. My sisters cancer was found early, stage 0 because I had her go in for further screening.
Great card! Kelly x
