This transition is TOUGH!

Transition is TOUGH!

Transition is SO tough… I don’t know what my problem is but I’m having a terrible time transitioning from Christmas to “what now?”

Maybe it’s because I’m not over Christmas yet? It’s funny because I was talking to Alexis as I was stamping and she said to me “Mom, are you so excited to be moving on from Christmas stuff?”

Honestly, no!

I packed up all of my Holiday Catalog items so I could focus on the next catalog and maybe that is exactly my problem.  Maybe it’s not a transition problem,  maybe I’m mourning my Christmas pretties? Regardless… bare with me.

Picture Perfect

I played around with the new stamp set Picture Perfect today.  Beautiful images and two of them require a 3 Step Stamping.  C R A Z Y.

Yes, this rose was stamped 3 times to get the different texture and colors.  SO pretty.

Wink of Stella

My favorite of this card is not the rose however.  It’s the use of the Gold Wink of Stella.

I used it 4 different times in 4 different ways….

  • Used as a SPLATTER
  • Used to color the ends of the Vanilla Thick Twine
  • Used on the edge of Designer Series Paper
  • Used over the watercolored area to add sparkle (clear pen used)

Wink of Stella is going to be a FANTABULOUS  new tool for stampers.

Tip: To use this tool as a splatter, simply tap close to the brush with your bone folder or finger over the area you want to add splatter.  Try this on a scrap piece of paper before doing this on the real deal.

I started this card by creating a watercolored background on Watercolor Paper. Look closely and you can see a little bit of a shimmer from the Wink of Stella.

Now, something I would NOT recommend: Stamping your photopolymer greeting onto the Watercolor paper.  Umm… not recommended.  I think the paper has too much texture and unfortunately the ink pooled in a few areas.  For this card,  it was the last thing I stamped and there was no going back.  I had to own this mistake and move forward.

I hope you are enjoying a few of the sneak peeks from the NEW Occasions catalog.

Speaking of the catalog… if you have ordered from me within this last year you will be receiving the new Occasions Catalog as well as a Sale-a-Bration catalog in the mail.  The catalogs are now mailing and you should be receiving them SOON.  All catalogs should be delivered before January 5th, when the catalog goes live and you can order. I’m excited for you to see it.

  1. I love the rose and it is on my list of things to buy. I admit I have used wink of Stella for a long time. Love it and so glad we can get it from Stampin Up. There are so many pretty colors too so maybe they will bring in more colors.

  2. Love the background you created for the card. Just right to show off those pretty stamped flowers. I too, have used Wink of Stella for a couple of years and cannot make a card without the addition of its glitter. Here is a trick I use if my stamping of a saying goes south – I stamp the phrase on another piece of cardstock trimmed down and cut at the ends like a banner. I then pop dot with the lowest height foam pieces right over the first stamping. No one ever notices the mistake.

  3. I feel like I really didn’t get to play with all of my Christmas stamps. I think this year, I stamped with at least one image from each set I brought. 🙂 I wanted to let you know that I love the look of your words. They are stamped perfect and look great. Of course you card is beautiful as usual!!!!

  4. Beautiful card! So excited to see all your creations for 2016. You always inspire me. Thanks so much.
