This Old Chair

I meant to share this card over the weekend but when I first took the photographs of it and uploaded them I noticed that my head kept tilting to view it.  The more I looked at the card I finally came to the conclusion that it was completely CROOKED!  I took it apart tonight and fixed it.  We can only laugh at these type of mistakes.  They happen.  I  know you can relate to this! The beauty of stamping is anything can be fixed.

Do you have a neglected stamp set that you just LOVE? This is one of mine.  When I first had seen this image in the New Catalog last July it was love at first site.  I love the images and the sentiments.  However I have been so excited with other things this stamp set has just been sitting.  I pulled this Old Chair out and got busy with a fun card.  There are lots of layers but really easy assembly!

You will notice there are two layers of Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper.  This is beautiful paper.  Love the colors of Soft Suede, Marina Mist and Crumb Cake together.

I started with the base of my card using River Rock cardstock.  Then I layered a piece of the Elegant Soiree Designer paper (4 x 5 1/4).  The next layer is Marina Mist (3 1/2 x 4 3/4).  I added another layer of the Elegant Soiree Designer paper (3 1/4 x 4 1/2). The focal point of the Old Chair is from the stamp set Timeless Treasures.  I stamped this using Soft Suede ink onto Naturals Ivory cardstock and then layered Soft Suede and River Rock cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment onto a 1/2 x 3 1/2 Naturals Ivory cardstock making sure I stamped it all the way to the right side of the banner I was making.  I wanted to use my Distress Tool Kit file to roll the other end of the paper to give it that "old" look.  I love how this came out.  You also see the small scallops at the bottom of the banner.  This was made using my Dotted Ribbon Scallop punch.  It's my FAVORITE! I added one of my Vintage Trinket Safety pins so I could hang the banner using Linen Thread.

Overall, it's a simple card.  Just a few layers with dimension. You can find all these great supplies in my Online Store.  Don't forget to check my blog on Wednesday.  I will be sharing a FREE tutorial using the Easter Blossoms stamp set.  Remember, if you order $50 from my Online Store you can receive the bonus cards and a video with tips showing these great cards.  I'm really excited about it!

So the question tonight is….What stamp set do you have on your shelf that you ADORE but have not used?  Maybe I have the same stamp set and need to give it a little love.

XOXOXO

  1. I'm never disappointed with your style.  Did you use your paper piercing tool to make the tiny holes for your safety pin to thread through or something else?

A wonderful card – sadly I don't have this stamp set but do have the paper and will create something similar for an April birthday – thanks for your inspiration!!!
