Morning Stamping Escapade

Morning Stamping Escapade

Morning stamping is unheard of in my home,  let alone 7:30 in the morning.

Yesterday morning my oldest, Brandon woke me up and managed to get me out of bed way earlier than planned.  Since I had gone to bed late the night before I was trying to squeeze in a few more hours before waking.

Brandon had different plans, which in a sense screwed up the entire routine.

No biggie really.  It happens.

I started my morning rituals which always starts with the brewing of coffee.  Now I should tell you I’m pretty chipper in the morning.  I prefer to have at least one cup of coffee down before any conversation but I’m typically cheerful regardless.  Brandon and I are the only ones in my house that react this way to mornings.  The others…. not so much.  One in particular is grouchy pants.  UGH.

Anyways…

I grabbed my coffee and was browsing fakebook when all of a sudden I saw a video posted by Stampin’ Up! using my favorite kit, You’re So Lovely.

I opened the video and watched it and was completely blown away with the cuteness of projects.  Oh my GOSH.

Not even an entire cup of coffee was down and I had an INSTANT urge to create what I had just watched.  Gosh, I don’t do anything in an instant anymore and NEVER at 7:30 in the morning!

When Alexis woke up to find me in my stamp room she immediately asked if i was okay.  Obviously this was not a typical morning and my first thought was she probably thinks I never went to bed.  Ha ha ha.

Morning Stamping Isn’t So Bad!

Morning, You're So Lovely, Stampin' Up!

You’ve heard this before how much I love Stampin’ Up! kits and the You’re So Lovely is my FAVORITE!

One of the amazing concept artists put together the video below (end of the post) and this treat bag was my favorite.

I instantly created it and Alexis said….  “Can I have it?”

She said she wanted to give this treat bag  to one of her friends.

How could I possibly resist and out the door she went with this little gem.

Morning, You're So Lovely, Stampin' Up!

Everything you see on the bag was included with the kit except the Rhinestone I added on the butterfly.

What makes this little treat bag even better?

Mid afternoon I received a text from Alexis. “Mom, can you make 12 more of those treat bags? All my friends need one!”

My girl had just made me day. The best part- they were made with no holiday in mind. I was just carried away by all the cuteness and I had to create it.

Morning, You're So Lovely, Stampin' Up!

You can see in the photo above I decided to get busy and create a whole bunch for Alexis and her friends.  It was so easy.

I decided to create a card using the kit too.  A few extra things were added to create this card- Calypso Coral cardstock and a Tea Lace Doily, Jute Ribbon, and Basic Black ink.

Morning, You're So Lovely, Stampin' Up!

Alexis will be bringing 10 treat bags to school today for friends and I will carry a smile all day long.

I’m sure my morning stamping experience was a complete fluke, however I will be making more goodies using the Oh So Lovely kit.  If you don’t have one, I would highly encourage it.  The accessories in this kit are awesome.  Whether you are a beginner or advanced crafter, this kit is for you.

Check out this video with more fun ideas using this kit.  You will see the instructions to create this goodie bag above too.

Creating for Baby- Artisan Hop

Creating for Baby- Artisan Hop

Creating the precious cards for a baby can be so fun and easy with Stampin’ Up! products.

One of the things I love to create for a new mom is thank you cards.  They are showered with gifts as they wait for the precious baby to arrive and it’s nice to have a hand stamped thank you card ready to go when you need it.

Normally I create 8-12 thank you cards for the new mom and bundle with a nice ribbon around the cards.  Today I have another way that you can keep the cards together in a fun box using the Gift Box Punch Board.

Gift Box Punch Board

This has been one of my least used punch boards and I had to giggle at myself when I started to use it.  I was totally intimidated by this product.  WHY on EARTH?? It’s so simple.  I should have known because Stampin’ Up! always tries to make things easier for crafters like us.

It was only a matter of pulling the punch board OUT and playing with it.  It’s the perfect addition to a craft room.  I am crazy for not using this sooner.

Get Crafty

Let me share what I created today.

Baby, Made with Love stamp set, Stampin' Up!

The box was created using the Shine On Designer Series Paper from the Occasions catalog.  This paper is thick and perfection when creating any type of box.  Plus the designs are fun for any baby project.

The cards are quick and easy using the Made with Love stamp set and Baby’s First Framelits Dies.

Baby, Made with Love stamp set, Stampin' Up!

I made two versions of the card using the colors Bermuda Bay and Cucumber Crush.

These are created using our White Notecards, however I trimmed them down 1/2″ across the bottom to fit in my box (3 x 5).  Normally the Notecards measure 3-1/2″ x 5″.

Each card is layered with another piece of Whisper White cardstock and embellished using the Made with Love stamp set onesie image and a strip of coordinating cardstock.  I love how these turned out.  Simple but cute.

The greeting on the onesie came from the stamp set Happy Happenings.  Awesome greetings included with this set.

Creating the Box

Baby, Made with Love stamp set, Stampin' Up!

Here is a video below on creating the box.

Supplies Needed to create box:

Optional is the tag I created using the Tags & Labels Framelits attached using Linen Thread.

Ribbon to tie around the box (I used Whisper White Seam Binding Ribbon -retiring)

12 x 12 Shine On Designer Series Paper

Cut your DSP down to the following sizes:

  • 8 x 8 (box)
  • 3-1/8″ x 4-3/4″ (inside back piece)
  • 1-1/2″ x 12″ (belly band)

Use the chart on the punch board =  3.25 x 3.25 x 1.75

Your start line will be (L) and your diagonal line will be (S).

  • Edge 1: Vertical, Horizontal
  • Edge 2: Vertical, Horizontal, Diagonal
  • Edge 3: Vertical, Horizontal, Diagonal
  • Edge 4: Vertical

Once your box template is created, fold on all the score lines using your Bone Folder.  Remember that when you create a box you want to make nice folded creases.  This makes a huge difference in how your finished box will look.

Wrap a 1-1/2″ x 12″  piece of the Shine On Designer Series Paper around the box to create a belly band.

Tie a ribbon around the belly band and create a small tag for the box.

You can see all the products I used for this project on the clickable links below.

You might be asking… What do I do with the envelopes Kimberly? They will not fit into the box.  I bundled the envelopes together and tied ribbon around them.

As crafters we can make it easy for a new mom to send her thank you notes for all the fun baby gifts that she receives.

Time to be Inspired!

Be inspired today by visiting one of my favorites – Krista Frattin.  Her work is always amazing and I can’t wait to see what she shares today.

Fun Envelope Project

I have a fun project for you today. It's an envelope card.  Super simple and I bet you have a few envelopes either on hand or you could make one using your Simply Scored Tool.

This particular envelope came from a file on my e-cutter.  It was more of an experiement than anything.  I had some Textured Crumb Cake that I stashed away and pull out for "special" projects and thought this project would be perfect.

Once the actual envelope was created the decorating part was a piece of cake.  At first glance you might think this project is difficult.  Not at all. The great thing about being shabby is it has that messy look.  I like to call this weathered…. Any way you put it, I like it.

Kimberly Van Diepen, STampin' Up!

I started by adding layers of Designer Series Paper, lace, then more DSP.  You can see I have a few layers of Washi Tape too. I like the image stamped on the Label Framelit as it really pops up.

The doily was sponged, then sponged more and then lightly coated with a shimmer mist.  The entire front is shimmered with two different types.  I love my shimmer paints and mists.  The last piece was the Bakers Twine on the arrow clip. I love these clips as they add so much character to a card.

Kimberly Van Diepen, STampin' Up!

Remember, not all buttons have to be threaded.  A naked button is totally okay.  You can see my "ink splatters" on the base of the card. I used Whisper White ink and my Splatter image from the March Paper Pumpkin.  I love this image.   It sits on my desk for easy access.   Kimberly Van Diepen, STampin' Up!

Overall, this project would be perfect to stuff a gift card inside the envelope with a sweet message or I think I could even stuff a few chocolates in it.  Hmm!

Paper Pumpkin Sneaky Peek!

Do you just love the idea of something pretty coming to your door every month? The idea of Paper Pumpkin is very exciting to me for many reasons and I wanted to share them with you.

For almost 6 years I've been doing a program very similar called Stamps in the Mail.  It's my favorite program/service that I provide.  Paper Pumpkin is slightly different as it will cater to the many people that just do not have time to craft where Stamps in the Mail is like "Boutique" style stamping and more time involved.  Stamps in the Mail is for the paper crafter that just wants to create it ALL.

I love that I will be able to offer BOTH! I will also be signing up for the Paper Pumpkin because the stamp images are exclusive and they are just AWESOME.  I love that when I need to make FAST simple cards I will be able to with this program.  I also like that I will be able to use these images on other projects outside of the Paper Pumpkin.  Now that is what I call getting a lot of bang for my BUCK!!

For those of you signing up for the Paper Pumpkin with me as your demonstrator I won't disappoint.  Each month I will also send you a link to exclusive projects that I've created using the Paper Pumpkin images.  If you already signed up for Paper Pumpkin and chose me as your demonstrator,  let me know by EMAILING ME so I can send you a special handmade card.

Now, if you want a program that is a little more Boutique Style and more involved, look no further.  Stamps in the Mail is a fun and exciting program that comes right to your door.  The projects are upscale, layered and what I like to call, FLUFFY!  This program is more expensive but you get a lot of product each month. Click HERE to read all about Stamps in the Mail and choose a program that is a perfect fit for you.  The good news is both programs serve a GREAT purpose… they keep you creating pretty things.

Here is  a little sneak peek using an image from one of the Paper Pumpkin kits.  I *love* this cute stamp and totally used it on a different project.

I started this little Valentine project with an old Glassine Bag from the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit in the last mini.

I have them therefore I'm going to use them UP!!  The beautiful Pool Party flower comes from the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit. WOW, WOW, WOW!!  I love these.  Love the Kraft Paper Tags that are pre-embossed. It only took minutes to put 6 of these together. I fired up my Glue Gun for this project and used it on every piece to secure it down easily.

The words "Hey There" comes from the Paper Pumpkin kit.  I altered the sentiment a little by leaving out the word "friend".  I embossed it with Pool Party on Crumb Cake cardstock.  Oh my!  I love it.

You can see a complete list of products used below.

Products Used:

Stamps: Paper Pumpkin Exclusive stamp

Cardstock: Crumb Cake

Ink: VersaMark

Accessories: Glassine Bags, More Amore Speciality Paper (129309), Pool Party Embossing Powder (#129398), Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit (#131395), Large Rhinestone Basic Jewels (#129324), Heat Tool (#129053).

Are you ready to receive a fun kit each month so you can create in the comfort of your home?

You decide which program works best for YOU!

I have one last share for you today.  It's Wednesday so I always like to be crazy on hump day!

Kimberly Van Diepen

There is nothing better than self portraits on a girls trip.  The four of us took plenty of them and now I can't wait to keep the memories alive. Every time I look at this photo it makes me grin from ear to ear.

What's very exciting is I used the new Nobody's Business Digital Photobook Template that was released yesterday!!

Love all the patterns the stamp brushes are just AMAZING. You will love the word art.  WOWSER!

You can download the PDF of products used HERE

One last thing…. are you socially connected? Let's be honest, if you personally know me you know "I have the gift of gab!" I love to share and I love to connect with YOU!

You can follow my adventures in so many places and each are different depending on my mood. <smirk>

Facebook– sharing just about everything

Instagram– I love "pretty" stuff and if it inspires me I'm shooting a pic of it.

Pinterest– inspiration overload. I pin on my down time and get totally inspired.

Twitter– Umm… I use it but it's more of an instant feed of stuff.  I just twit tweet everything!

I know so many of you are cold and see nothing but drab outside.

I challenge you to make sunshine in your stamp room and make something pretty come to life.

Life is too short to be silly miserable.  Let's be happy and create.

Love to each!

XOXOXO

Recipe for Love!

Kimberly Van Diepen stampin up demo

Good morning and Happy Tuesday!

I have lots to share today and I'm getting ready to leave for Leadership tomorrow in Orlando Florida.

I am no where near prepared.  Not a single pair of undies packed however I have a few paper products ready to shove in the suitcase.

Sadly, that's typically how the story goes.

With Valentines literally sneaking up, I've started creating a few things with our hearts and "lover" themed products.

This year the product choices are fantastic!  Just frilly & girlie.

Today I am starting off with a little digital project.  I love this picture of the kids with us blurred in the background.

If you are in the Pensacola, Florida area and looking for a good photographer, Tamara Muscha is AMAZING.

This photo was taken by her this Summer and it's one of my favs.

You can see all the products I used on this page HERE!

I have a quick video on how I faded the XOXO's on this layout:

Another quick share today…

I stopped to catch my breath this weekend and created something for little ole me.

I'm so excited about this little project.  I fell in love with the cover of our Bi-Monthly Magazine that we get from Stampin' Up!

I wanted to recreate it and add a few more things I *LoVe*!

Kimberly Van Diepen, Stampin' Up! _MG_1306

You can find these fun notebooks at Target.  They are a little pricey but SO perfect for what you can do with them.  I'm in love. This is frilly, girlie and so fun to look at.  Now I can journal to my hearts content with something pretty!

It's almost a sampling of the entire Spring Mini.

You can find all of these GREAT products on this little notebook in my Online Store.

Don't forget to check out the new Digital Downloads today. They are fantastic.
