Oh where, Oh where do I begin? Let's see… first I have to take care of a little PAST DUE business!! I have to announce the WINNER of my No Layer Challenge! I was so excited to see that someone wanted to take the challenge, and not only did one… but a few. Loved that and it made me smile big time. Let's all agree that making a NO layer card is not easy! It looks easy, but I bet you if I polled all the ladies that took the challenge they would say it wasn't an easy card. With all the fun Stampin' Up! products available, you just want to keep adding! So, the WINNER of the Challenge is Sheryl Dreyer! Sheryl, email me your snail address and I have a card I want to send to you. The names were all put in a hat and RUSS got to draw the winner. I always like to make him the bad guy!
Speaking of bad guy! My sweet husband has almost put me in the funny farm this week. The kids and I flew to DC last week to meet up with him and do a little house hunting. I am thankful that our Real Estate agent is a friend and she was so easy to work with this week. I'm surprised she didn't throw me out the first day. After a week of looking at approx 45 houses, I was ready to just poke my eyeballs out. Moving as most of you know is never easy. Factor in a housing market that just STINKS and you could put yourself in quite a FUNK. We *think* we found the house we want, but still not 100%. The good news is Russ and I are still married! I still cannot believe we looked at that many houses and every house had a big "BUT" at the end of looking at it. How does that happen? From schools, back yards, space for my stamp supplies… these were just a few of the factors. I'm not that picky, but I think my poor Real Estate agent thinks so after this week. LOL!
We broke up the week with a nice weekend in downtown DC and acted like tourists. It was fun to see the White House and the kids really enjoyed the area after sitting in a car all week looking at houses. Not exactly the Spring Break they were hoping for, however great time spent with Daddy. We leave to go back to Colorado tomorrow. I am thrilled I missed two snow storms while I was here. Hee Hee!!!
Okay, onto some stamping. Let me show you a few things that have been going on the last few weeks. Obviously there has been no stamping this past week. Tragedy!
A few weeks ago we did a fun Stamp a Stack at my house and a Just Cards class. These were simple cards that my customers could make lots of. The card above uses a few of my favorite things, like buttons and Linen Thread. Here is the Supply List:
Stamps: Starring You (I think), Well Scripted (Mini Occassions)
Cardstock: Kraft, Old Olive
Ink: Taken with Teal, Basic Black
Accessories: Linen Thread, Playground buttons, Storybook DSP
Here was another card we made. A little different in the way it opens. I basically trimmed off about a 1/2" and then used the Scallop Trim Border punch from SAB along that edge. I used Pink Flamingo DSP on the inside card base. Love that DSP! The front of the card I used the stamp set Petal Pizzaz. A really fun set if you like flowers and a bold stamp. I thought this was a bright summer card.
Well, if you stayed this long for this crazy blog post, you are AWESOME. Actually, you are the best. <smile> It's time for me to finish packing for the big trip home. I'm sad to say good bye to Russ. Alexis has already told me she is ready to move. I didn't have the heart to tell her I am not. 🙁
