Tonight after my class I really wanted to dive into some long awaited scrapbooking. While I was working on my Scraps in the Mail program I found a few pictures that made me smile and kept them on my desk to remind me to scrap them this week. I think I will do this each week. Just pull a few photos and keep them out so I can make sure I’m reminded to use them. May not seem so overwhelming when I want to scrapbook!
I also cleaned out my stamp room today pulling retired DSP’s and Rub Ons and just wanted to cry seeing some of my fav Rub Ons that are on the way out. So, to make me happy I used them! 🙂
First, do these pictures not crack you up??? This is why I love scrapbooking. Brings back memories of the day I watched my mom act like a goofball. For this layout I used the Pefect Day Rub Ons for the Title and accents on the layout. Then, a super fun idea is Shrinky Dinks for embellishments. I used the retiring stamp set Seeing Spots and stamped on Shrinky Dink Stuff. Then heated it up with my heat tool (careful, they dance around your table and they are HOT!). Once they were cool, I put a glue dot behind them and used these for embellishments along the side of my page. So FUN!
For this layout, I used the same Rub Ons only in White. I used the Baja Breeze and Rockability DSP and the So Tweet Chipboard. Then I got SILLY and made my own bird! I used a 1 3/4 Circle punch and then using the Basket & Blooms Die Cut I cut a small flower out of white felt and used that under the button from Button Bouquet. The orange beak was just hand cut. Lastly, for his tail I used the sizzlet Swirls Scribbles.
So, this was my Power Scrappin’ night. I have one more layout I will share with you tomorrow night.

Your layouts are great. I love that little bird you created.
Tip for you: Put your shrink art in a non-stick saucepan and let it dance around all you want. It’ll stay in the pan.
Thanks for sharing the Shrinky Dink idea. You are so creative and talented….I just love checkin’ you blog. Your homemade bird is cubby and cute too. The pictures are adorable and really add a lot to your amazing layouts. See you Friday at CLUB!!! Can’t wait!
