If truth be known, idea overload does not normally happen. At ALL. Almost NEVER.
Lately, I don’t know what it is but I’m a firecracker with idea overload like I’ve never seen before. I’m almost fearful that I’ll wake up and NOT have it again.
Now, there is a problem with this.
The ideas come at the WORST time possible. For instance, in a shower. Or as soon as I lay my head on the pillow to go to bed. The shower is really the worst. I have no pen or paper to write the idea down and no sooner do I get out of the shower the idea seems to have passed.
Having ideas flowing as I hit my head on the pillow not so bad as I can usually talk to my phone and get the ideas jotted down.
Then another idea overflow time is in my car while I’m driving. Typically I talk to myself again through my phone and the ideas get noted but seriously. Why not when I’m sitting at my desk, like right now?
Does this happen to you?
What do YOU do? What are your secrets for keeping up with your ideas?
We all know that we can pin all our great ideas but honestly, I pin like a mad woman and forget about it. I need an idea to keep these ideas FRESH.
The idea for this card happened last night almost as soon as I laid down to go to bed. I just finished praying when the idea came using this stamp set, All Ye Faithful. Ironic I guess, as I thought about how wonderful my Savior is to me. How I’m grateful He keeps the ideas flowing. Gold was the first color I thought of. Pure fine Gold.
I literally had Gold everything hanging out on my desk and ready to create. It was a divine moment for all of it to come together. Like I said, not a normal occurrence for this to happen.
Create It!
I started this card using the Thick Whisper White cardstock. My ultimate fav for creating card bases. Love the weight of this cardstock.
I cut a piece of Thick Whisper White to 4 x 5 1/4. Then laid 3 pieces of 1 1/4 x 5 1/4 pieces of the Winter Wonderland Speciality DSP over it. Then lay a piece of the Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack cut down to 4 x 5 1/4 over that.
I did a basic stitch around the entire vellum to keep it in place using Gold thread. Oh my YUM!
Using Gold embossing powder, emboss the image and your greeting. Both are attached using dimensionals.
Lastly, using the Washi Label punch I punched a piece of Gold Foil and stitched across the top of the vellum.
Attach this to the Whisper White Card base and add an Iced Rhinestone to the Gold Washi Label.
So simple, so elegant.
I added a bit of Gold Flecks using my famous Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink. Oh how I wish this was still available through Stampin’ Up! It’s my most favorite thing in the entire world. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a wee bit… but I do lurve it.
I hope this inspires you to create with some beautiful gold right now. I love love it.
Okay, off to get busy in my room. It looks like a tornado has come through. It’s a disaster area. Like AWFUL.
Love you. XOXOXOXO
