Every where I turn I see a globe, or world map starring me in the face either on the internet or shopping in town. I've always had a love affair for world globes and bought one for my kids when they were really young. I thought it would make them smarter… Ha! Now I'm seeing cool vintage maps used in the MOST creative way and it tickles me pink. What tickles me MORE pink is the new Designer Paper -This and That Epic Day from Stampin' Up! There is a map pattern with HEXAGONS… I know. HOLD ME BACK!
I decided to put it to use with another fun stamp set, By the Tide. I started by using the coral image and stamping it with VersaMark onto the Map Pattern. The magic occurred when I added a little Gold Embossing powder over the VersaMark. Subtle.. but it's there. I stamped my shell in Calypso Coral and cut this image out and added a few strips of pretty ribbon underneath that coordinated. All of this is layered onto a 2 1/2" Circle punch which is also layered onto the Scallop Circle. That scallop circle(Gold Brushed Cardstock-OH BEAUTIFUL) is one of my favorites from the Perfect Pennants Die Cut. Definitely a LOVED die cut.
So far I've enjoyed all the beautiful pieces of the This and That Epic Day Bundle and haven't even started scrapbooking with it yet. It's next. I have everything laid out and ready. Oh, my! Your map card is sweet perfection, I love hex shapes on anything. But the sea themed embellishments are particularly perfect! BTW, I'm cheering you on in your challenge, too! I decided to get healthy in January, and I have to say, it feels good to focus on being good to yourself. I love your inspirational quotes and layouts & will snag a few to keep for my own encouragement. YOU GO, GIRL!
