Hello Darling |Stampin’ Up!
As I told you yesterday time has not been on my side lately but there is something fantastic about coming into my stamp room even for a few minutes. It’s like a release of adrenaline once I’ve created something.
The problem lately is I’ve been stuck on the same color combinations ALL the time. I decided I really need to move out of my comfort zone and play with a few colors that have been sitting patiently waiting for me to come grab them.

I’m also using the many beautiful new stamp sets I have in a pile on my desk. Right now I have a rule… I cannot use another set until every single one of the new ones have been used. My pile is dwindling and I’m enjoying playing with new stuff.
My stamp set today is Hello Darling. This set is is pretty eclectic with flowers, spirals, a fun sentiment and striped circle.
I started this card using the Dots & Stripes Stencil first. I used the Dots and a Sponge Dauber to create a pattern and then stamped the spiral randomly on the Crushed Curry cardstock.
The card went together quickly but then I hit a stumbling block when my sewing skills went bad. Sometimes you just have to take a deep breath and say, “to heck with it! I’m moving on!” I couldn’t believe my greeting was sewn on crooked. I decided I would tilt the card a bit and it looks fantastic.

Don’t you hate when this happens?
I proceeded with my card and in the end I loved my crooked greeting and the color combination. If you want to try this one you will need Crushed Curry, Strawberry Slush and Early Espresso.
You can see all the supplies for this card below.

Don’t forget about the great Deals of the week for THIS week!

Quick update on Russ. He was interviewed by our local TV station on Monday and the segment aired last night. They are bringing attention to the warning signs of a stroke and wanted Russ to talk because he is so young. You can see it HERE. He did a great job and it’s great to see how far he has come. It made our night.

What a great educational and inspiring report on Russ. You as a family should all be so proud of your love, caring and determination in helping him return to his daily life, activities and work.
Keep up the great work.
Your card looks just gorgeous. I can’t sew a straight line to save my life. I’ve learned to live with it which has been hard for this perfectionist type A gal. Glad to see that all of our collective prayers are having a wonderful affect on all of you and especially Russ. God is truly a wonderful and loving Father.
Kimberly – Thanks for keeping us updated on Russ’ progress. What a great news segment! Congrats to your family. Russ did a great job. Keep up the good work Russ!!! We are cheering for your continued recovery. – Lisa
Love your new rule…will adopt it myself as I also have several sets that I have yet to use! Your card is sooo bright and beautiful and cherry! And I would not tell that I accidentally sewed things crooked…it could just be the way you set it up! Sadly I was unable to see the video that Russ made, but am sure it is fabulous and hopefully the information provided will help at least one person…. Have a great week!
