Christmas Tags & A GiveAway!
Hello, I’m a procrastinator and it’s time for me to start making my Christmas Tags. Oh Deer!
Are you behind like I am? It’s not without fail because this happens every year. Although last year was probably the worst as I was making tags 2 days before Christmas…
I jumped in tonight and was excited to get started on my Christmas Tags because this year I love the Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper. This vintage loving girl was drawn to it the minute I saw it in the Holiday Catalog.
Quick and Easy to Create!
Over all the Christmas tags were quick and easy. Just a few layers of cardstock, Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper and vellum. The longest part of these tags will be the fussy cutting of the deer and Santa.
Each tag has 3 main parts and then the rest is layering of a few pieces of cardstock or designer paper.
Each tag measures 3 x 5 1/2. You are not able to see in these photos, but the bottom layer is a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, then the Music notes paper and then Vellum overlay. I used the Crumb Cake cardstock for stability.
Once you have your main pieces layered, I did a quick stitch across each one using a Gold Metallic Thread.
To finish the tags I layered them with a Tea Lace Doily and a sliver (that’s a 1/4″) of Red Glimmer Paper. Of course you can add a deer or a Santa. Both are sweet as they can be and not hard to fussy cut.
Lastly, I used the Oh, What Fun Photopolymer stamp set for the greetings on the tags.
It’s no secret this season -I’m in love with Vellum! The Winter Wonderland Vellum is stunning. I’ll be sharing a few more projects tomorrow with this amazing paper.
I hope by being less of a procrastinator I can inspire you to create your Christmas Tags this year. Not all of my Christmas Tags are fancy. I’m pretty sure last year it was a plain piece of cardstock with a whole punched at the top. I am pretty sure my kids were devastated by not having one of my special tags last year….

My favorite tradition is making sugar cookies and then inviting my daughter’s friends and their moms over to have a cookie decorating party! Everyone leaves with pretty cookies to leave out for Santa!
Every Christmas of my sons life I have put in his stocking a Whitman sampler and a Lifesaver Candy Christmas Book. Going on #43.
We have a large family so we have 15 grandchildren. For the past 20 years we have all of our grandchildren with their parents come over for Christmas eve to do our gift exchg. Our grandchildren look forward to their new pjs we give them every year!
What a great idea. Anything with food involved I’m there. Ha ha ha.
A favorite Christmas tradition is setting up the Nativity scene with the ceramic set I made many, many years ago.
I just sort of stumbled onto your blog and I love what I saw so far! These tags are so cute. I have some pieces of these papers and now I think I need to go make some tags though I am into making the tags into cards too. I have a friend who has a degree in music and I think she would love to have this tag on one of her little presents I am making her. My hours at work have been severely cut this year so presents will be a lot of hand or homemade food gifts and sets of cards so this just fits the bill. I hope you get used to my ramblings as I will be subscribing to your blog. As far as Christmas traditions, well we don’t have kids and my parents are deceased. But, one of my favorites is watching Chevy Chase’s Christmas Vacation movie and making a big pot of chili and eating Christmas cookies by the end of the movie!
My favorite tradition started 25 years ago. I buy lots of small candy items throw some dsp around them and maybe put them into a 3D box, bag, etc. add a tag and keep them with me throughout the season. As I go about my usual holiday duties, I pass out the goodies to retail clerks, waitresses, repair people, medical office and church staff, etc. that I built a rapport with through the year, and sometimes I give to people I just meet. These people work very hard and often deal w challenging customers/patients.
My favorite tradition is baking cookies and delivering to neighborhood friends. It’s a great feeling.
As a family, we make gifts from the heart that are opened Christmas morning. Everyone was hesitant when we first began this tradition. Now it’s the favorite part.
My favorite tradition is being all together on Christmas Day and the annual family photo. Some years, it’s serious and others is fun and commical, but it’s so neat to look back at how much everyone has grown and seeing the additions and some times the deletions of family members.
As a family we go and pick out a Christmas Tree the first Saturday after Thanksgiving. Then my daughter and I decorate it.
My favorite Christmas tradition is going to the kid’s and now the grandkid’s Christmas program at church. I love listening to their sweet voices singing the Christmas hymns. It brings tears to my eyes every time. Telling the Christmas story never gets old. Merry Christmas to you and Your family.

Your tags are adorable. We have several traditions at Christmas but my favorite is the celebration of advent which always culminates with the Candlelight Service at our church on Christmas Eve.
My favorite Christmas tradition is my mother reading the story of Jesus’ birth from the Bible and leading us in a prayer of thanksgiving for the sacrifice He made for us when He came to Earth. She is 83 now and each year it becomes more precious to hear her read that wonderful passage! ??
Hands down my favorite tradition is piling in the car with hot cocoa and riding around looking at Christmas lights. Some years it has just been my daughter and I as the guys weren’t as interested. She is getting older now but we still love the anticipation of all the awesome sparkly lights!
My favorite tradition was making reindeer food with the kids. One year we were totally caught up in the hustle and bustle and I completely forgot the rolled oats, a main component of course. As we didn’t make it until Christmas Eve night, all stores were closed. Being a master of improvise, I grabbed instant oatmeal. Crisis averted! Kiddos sprinkled all over the yard and all was well. It rained that night. We woke up to mounds of oatmeal all over. We lived with that oatmeal all over the grass for a month, because you can’t rake oatmeal up. We talk about that year each Christmas now. My kids will pass the tradition down to thier’s too.
I have too many favorites to choose just one! But because my kids are 3 and 5, right now my favorite is that controversial elf on the shelf! Not only does he remind them to be nice to each other, they get out of bed QUICK in the morning to see where he’s moved. (Sometimes a little TOO quick!) I think he might even leave a letter to tell them to clean up the house all by themselves…I’m sure it will work! ?

Love the tags!! I make tags every year and these are super cute. A tradition we do every year is prime rib Christmas day and I purchase my grandbabies Christmas PJ’s.
My favorite holiday tradition is flying to my out-of-state family and spending a week with them during Christmas. 🙂
Morning Kimberly, great giveaway! My favorite tradition, when our girls were small, we would drive around the nearby towns, and gaze at the decorated houses all lit up! Even though our girls are all grown up and moved out, we still drive around and gaze at the houses, but now it is much quieter, oh well life goes on.
One of the traditions that my mom started with me when I was little was going to the Annual Christmas craft show. I always looked forward to it as it was always around my birthday. I love stopping by all the booths picking up yummy Mennonite cookies, gifts for family and friends and a Christmas ornament for our tree. Since my girls were little, this is a new tradition that we do together each year and we still look forward to our cookies, other desserts, fudge and a new ornament for our tree!! The time we spend together is priceless!!

My favorite Christmas tradition is when we go look at all the neighborhood lights after church on Christmas Eve. I make up a thermos of hot chocolate to set the mood. Just a sweet family time.

Beautiful tags you created today. Love the use of layers. A tradition in our family is a non-traditional Christmas dinner. We always have cheese fondue. It makes a wonderful meal that we sit, chat, and enjoy each year. Many memories are made and shared ’round the fondue pot. It would not be Christmas without it. My favorite tradition is putting up the Santa that my Dad painted more than 45 years ago. I really loved to see it outside when I was a child and have had it to display for my children and now my grandchildren. Keeps my Dad’s memory in our Christmas ……….
I live in the town of “Christmas City” , so each year we go to the annual Courthouse Lighting. Then walk around listening to the carolers whom are dressed in Victorian Costumes while drinking a mug of hot chocolate or hot cider. We actually have many other traditions but this starts off our holiday season. Kimberly I’m loving all your projects you’ve made so far!

My favorite Christmas tradition is getting up Christmas morning, putting Christmas music on, finding our stockings to see what goodies are there. Even though there are no children in our household this is a tradition started when I was a child and we still observe it. Adults like to see what Santa brings too!!!
I love the baking this time of year! I have made Christmas cookies forever. My favorite are the sugar cookies. It is relaxing to frost them with powdered sugar frosting then decorate with candies. To answer your question.. Singing silent night on Christmas Eve during candle light service is my favorite tradition. So much joy and peace and hope celebrating my Savior’s birth!
I will be hosting my 25th Open House next Sunday. My grown kids “survived” the earlier years when mom would turn into a grouchy ogre. (They hated to see it come) I was a big ball of stress and was constantly after them to keep the house picked up. BUT if I didn’t enjoy it I wouldn’t still be doing it. It’s so much easier now.? Other than spending time with our kids and grandkids, I love our tradition of eating Chinese on Christmas Eve. We started doing this when our kids were with their respective parents on the Eve and have continued it!
Decorating sugar cookies to the 9s with my 7 1/2 year old daughter! it’s been so much fun to watch her talent and creativity evolve! I love her artistic side as much as all her other facets…and she stamps with me, too! ?

Love tags. They are easy and can just make the package shine. My holiday favorite holiday tradition is my 3 day shopping trip in San Francisco. While j love my family it is just fun to have some girl time shopping for Christmas and for me too. We usually have an exchange night which is usually craft stuff. We share holiday drinks while we steal each other’s gifts. I have other favorites too making ravioli with my mom is another and cookie exchanges. Thanks for all your inspiration.
My favorite Christmas tradition is putting up our tree. My husband and I have been married for 23 years and have 3 children ages 22, 20 and 17. Each year since we’ve been married and for each year since the birth of each of our children we all get a new Christmas ornament. On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, we make and event out of putting up our tree. Its so much fun! We put on Christmas music, turn on the fireplace and one by one, we take turns putting up our ornaments. Often reliving the memory of old ornaments and enjoying seeing our past favorites again. It usually takes a couple of hours, but it’s a very special time of building memories that we’ll always have. My husband and I have always said that when each of our children marry, we’re going to give them all of their ornaments as part of their wedding gift. Our Christmas tree is more of a memory tree full of random ornaments from all over the world and from different things the children were into at the different stages of their lives. My favorite tradition is driving home to Indiana for Christmas each year. I made my husband promise that we would go every year when his job moved us to Kansas and he has been faithful to his promise for 30+ years!
My favorite tradition is baking cookies with my Grandkids ages 7yrs old to 21 yrs old. We have so much fun and lots of yummy cookies to share.
My husband and I love going to our daughter’s house Christmas morning to see what the grand girls got for Christmas. After seeing their gifts, we enjoy a delicious brunch that my daughter makes! Yummy!
My favorite tradition came with our house. The original owner set out over 100 white paper bag luminaries every Christmas night. We have continued the tradition for 23 years!
Our family tradition was as children we went to Christmas eve church service in the beautiful little town set in a beautiful country side. Now I share that with my husband and it’s great night as we are close by and we walk to church and after the service we go to my sisters.
My favorite tradition is going to Christmas Eve candlelight service with my family and then rushing home to get my kids ready for Santa (setting out cookies, reindeer food, and putting on their new Christmas PJs). We also sing Happy Birthday to Jesus on Christmas Day.
My favorite tradition is attending Christmas services at church and being surrounding by God’s love. At home, I love putting up our tree. We moved 19 times in 30 years of military service and I love putting up ornaments from all our assignments and remembering the people and places that have had such an impact in our lives.
Our favorite holiday tradition is to go to church on Christmas Eve. On the way home we drive by different neighborhoods to look at Christmas decorations on the houses while listening to Christmas music on the radio. I gave my two daughters an ornament each Christmas for the tree, and only stopped doing this when they had their own babies. Now I give my four grandchildren an ornament each, usually to do with what they’ve been into that year. They look forward to this and have so much fun remembering when they received the ornament, even our daughters who are now 40 and 41.
Each Christmas my sister and I always left a mince pie and a glass of sherry for Santa (English tradition). We passed this tradition onto our children who also added carrots to the offering for Rudolph and the other reindeer. My grandchildren now leave cookies and milk and of course the obligatory carrots for Rudolph. I think I like the English version best
One of my favorite traditions is the decorating of the Angel tree – where all the ornaments are some type of angel — many of them hand-made. Over the years, many friends have given me these ornaments and it brings such fond memories each time I take out an angel and put it on the tree. God bless you and your framily this season.
My favorite Christmas Holiday tradition is sharing the spirit with neighbors and family. I HOSTESS a Christmas dinner and oh my a whole block of food and cheer too! We then attend our Church’s Christmas service and end with caroling in this small town. It blesses all of us with peace and love. Thank you Kimberly for being you. My favorite Christmas tradition is breakfast at my parents with all the family in attendance.
Every Christmas we have a “mystery” present under the tree. It has no tag and everyone guesses who it is for. It can be fun or needed. I am the only one who knows who it is for!
Fav tradition is making strata (yeast rolls are my bread), eggs, heavy whipping cream…you get the drift, cheddar cheese, sausage and bacon and taking it to my brother’s house Christmas morning to open presents; I think they would be shocked if I didn’t make it. I have so many favorite traditions around the holidays and they all focus on family and friends. If I had to pick a favorite it would be cookie day. My Mother, SIL and my Aunt and her daughters all get together and make Christmas cookies. The kids help and run around and cause mischief. The men come later and we share a meal, games and lot of laughs.

Our tradition is watching Christmas Vacation after we get home from Christmas Eve Church Services!! Love that movie even though we pretty much know the script by heart!!
Our tradition is having a spaghetti dinner. This is a 31 year old tradition and it started when my husband moved to Oklahoma City and I flew into OKC for the Christmas holiday. He had a small apartment so we couldn’t cook a big dinner. So we went to a seven eleven and got ingredients for a spaghetti dinner. The clerk looked at our purchase and asked “what happened to,your turkey?” Thus the annual what happened to your turkey Christmas spaghetti dinner.
