Three Beautiful People….

Three Beautiful People….

Beautiful people.  That’s what we have in our stamping community.

I’m reminded the past two weeks of a few things and I wanted to share with you.

In two weeks my stamping community has lost three beautiful people.

Being a part of Stampin’ Up! has always been a beautiful thing because there are so many beautiful things that have crossed my path during my 13 years as a demonstrator.

People.  Relationships.  This is it. This is why I love being part of this community.  It’s YOU.

The past two weeks we lost three beautiful demonstrators and it’s heartbreaking to see them go.  Selfishly I will miss their earthly bodies as well as what each one of them gave to me along the way in my journey with Stampin’ Up!

My friends Suzy Miller, Kristina Dodson and Joann Weimers are now with Jesus. Each of these ladies fought a hard battle. Suzy and Kristina both had ALS and Joann had other health problems.  Now they are free from all of that in Heaven and that gives me peace and I pray it gives their families peace.  Just thinking about the 3 of them together, stampin’ sisters… makes me smile.

Each one of these ladies made an impact on my life and none of it had to do with stamping.  They were just amazing women who cared.

That’s what we do friends.  We care about each other.  Stamping is just the bonus.  I hope we never forget that.  Stamping is what brings us together, but at the end of the day we care about EACH OTHER.

I have to tell you… reading your comments on your family holiday traditions has been the highlight of my weekend.  I love reading them because they are exactly what sharing life together is all about.  We share the good, bad and ugly details with each other.  That’s what bonds our friendships.  Isn’t that a beautiful thing? I hope you are smiling.  Despite the sadness of these beautiful ladies passing, I smile knowing that their legacy in this community will always go on.  We will carry it on.

I didn’t get too much stamping time in this weekend but I definitely wanted to create cards for my friends families.  Honestly, this weekend was a big fat FLOP. The kids were at Church Camp and had a blast.  Meanwhile Russ and I sat dealing with my computer issues that turned out taking up an entire day.  I’m surprised we are still married after this fiasco.  Technology problems can bring out the best and worst of a relationship… Oh MY word.

Anyways…

Time to share what I did create…

Rose Wonder Sneak Peek

Beautiful, Rose Wonder Stamp Set, Stampin' Up!

Rose Wonder is going to be on everyone’s must have list.  I can almost bet this set will be the most popular in the Occasions catalog.

You know what that means… get it early. This set has coordinating Thinlits called Rose Garden and comes in a bundle.

Beautiful, Rose Wonder Stamp Set, Stampin' Up!

My favorite about this Rose Wonder stamp set is the greetings. They are crisp, and beautiful greetings.

Perfect occasion greetings and gorgeous stamp images.

Beautiful, Rose Wonder Stamp Set, Stampin' Up!

My favorite is the scripture verse included in this set.  It’s one of my favorites and so comforting.

Rose Wonder Stamp Set, Stampin' Up!

What do you think? I love the soft feel of this card. Maybe it’s because I added a bit of my favorite colors, Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride.

Either way, I’d love to hear what you think.

Will you do me a favor? Pray for my friends families. Pray for peace and healing during their time of grief and our stamping community.

I love you my friends. XOXOXO

Embellished Ornaments- Creation Station Hop!

Embellished Ornaments-Creation Station Hop!

I was going through my big stash of Holiday Catalog stamps today and noticed that my Embellished Ornaments stamp set was at the bottom of the lonely pile.  I’m surprised myself that I haven’t used this set more for a few reasons.  The ornaments are beautiful but the fonts in the greetings stand out even more to me.

I have good news….

Today’s Creation Station Blog Hop features Embellished Ornaments and Peaceful Pines.  I am confident you will be inspired along the route of this hop.  I’m even more excited as I’ve created 3 projects to inspire you today. That’s a Christmas miracle!

Embellished Ornaments

Embellished Ornaments, Creation Station Blog Hop, Stampin' Up!

I started off using very neutral colors.  Love the Crumb Cake, Whisper White and gold all mixed together.  The Winter Wonderland Designer Paper and Vellum Stack worked perfect for this project because the Vellum adds a soft touch and the Designer Paper adds an elegant touch with the gold.

Embellished Ornaments, Creation Station Blog Hop, Stampin' Up!

I couldn’t help but add a little Tea Lace doily underneath the layers to give it more of a delicate feel.

Same design basically for this card below, just more stars and different greeting.  Elements are layered and then a quick stitch across the layers to keep them secure.

Embellished Ornaments Treat Box

Lastly, I wanted an elegant treat box that I could fill with chocolate to give to a special friend.  The Pillow Box die cut was the perfect box. This framelit is easy to work with and you can create many boxes in a quick amount of time.

You can see why I love the fonts in the greetings of this stamp set so much.  Very elegant and pretty stunning when you add Gold Embossing powder to it.

The Delicate Ornaments thinlits are just that… delicate. The fine detail makes this framelit an eye catcher.

You can see all the supplies at the bottom of the post in the clickable links.

Christmas Tags & A GiveAway!

Christmas Tags & A GiveAway!

Hello, I’m a procrastinator and it’s time for me to start making my Christmas Tags.  Oh Deer!

Are you behind like I am? It’s not without fail because this happens every year.  Although last year was probably the worst as I was making tags 2 days before Christmas…

I jumped in tonight and was excited to get started on my Christmas Tags because this year I love the Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper.  This vintage loving girl was drawn to it the minute I saw it in the Holiday Catalog.

Christmas Tags, Stampin' Up!, Santa

Quick and Easy to Create!

Over all the Christmas tags were quick and easy.  Just a few layers of cardstock, Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper and vellum. The longest part of these tags will be the fussy cutting of the deer and Santa.

Christmas Tags, Stampin' Up!, Santa

Each tag has 3 main parts and then the rest is layering of a few pieces of cardstock or designer paper.

Each tag measures 3 x 5 1/2. You are not able to see in these photos, but the bottom layer is a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, then the Music notes paper and then Vellum overlay.  I used the Crumb Cake cardstock for stability.

Once you have your main pieces layered, I did a quick stitch across each one using a Gold Metallic Thread.

To finish the tags I layered them with a Tea Lace Doily and a sliver (that’s a 1/4″) of Red Glimmer Paper.  Of course you can add a deer or a Santa.  Both are sweet as they can be and not hard to fussy cut.

Lastly, I used the Oh, What Fun Photopolymer stamp set for the greetings on the tags.

It’s no secret this season -I’m in love with Vellum! The Winter Wonderland Vellum is stunning.  I’ll be sharing a few more projects tomorrow with this amazing paper.

I hope by being less of a procrastinator I can inspire you to create your Christmas Tags this year.  Not all of my Christmas Tags are fancy.  I’m pretty sure last year it was a plain piece of cardstock with a whole punched at the top.  I am pretty sure my kids were devastated by not having one of my special tags last year….

Important Updates…

Last month I did a GiveAway around my birthday.  It was SO amazing to read all the awesome comments on gratitude.

Birthday Giveaway!

Birthday Giveaway!

Today is kinda a special day. 45 years ago I came screaming into the world and I haven’t stopped chatting since. At least that’s the story my mom tells.

I’m trying to reflect on these past 45 years and sadly they seem like a blur.  Not trying to get too sentimental but gosh, time is flying before my eyeballs.

Oh my GEEEEEE! I’m 45.

I’d like to think I’m getting wiser but I’m reminded daily that I must have fallen off the turnip truck, hit my head and it’s caused gross memory loss….at least that’s what my kids think.  They seem to be so much “wiser” than me in their teenage lives. <insert my rolling eyes here>

It’s possible my kids are the only reason I might have noticed I was a bit older today.  I swear 2 more gray hairs popped on my head.  The funny thing they don’t realize is they are keeping me YOUNG.  Oh yes indeed.

In fact I try to pull off my “mom coolness” on them as frequently as I can.  For instance talking to them in their crazy language or even better, singing at the top of my lungs to their hip jams.  While I get some pretty funny looks from my kids they end up giggling and then I giggle.  I’d like to think the giggling created my wrinkles on my forehead….

To be honest with you (you know I am), out of the 45 years I’ve been on this earth this past year has been one of the hardest.  Quite frankly it’s been T O U G H! Learning to accept change that I never expected and learning to move forward has been hard. Getting rid of the anger was an even bigger leap. I’ve probably learned more about myself than I ever wanted to know but I’m so glad I took the many extra steps this past summer to face the facts and press on.  Truthfully, something had to give because I couldn’t stand myself.  That’s BAD.

Today at the sweet age of 45 I’m in a good place. I’m thankful I took the necessary steps to get the help I needed and it’s helped me in ways I never would have expected.  I am also thankful for your encouragement along the way.  That has been a gift!  A true blessing. I am almost back to my crazy kimberly ways and that’s a FANTASTIC feeling.

Since it’s my day I thought I would do something fun and have a little giveaway.

Time for a Giveaway!

My birthday gift is giving back to you.  I wish I could give personally to each and everyone of you for all the encouragement over the last 3 years.  Seriously, between Iraq, a move and then Russ’ having a stroke…  You kept me upright.  YOU are a good reason I’m here today celebrating the big 45 and I love you.  You have endured  a lot of Kimberly babble.  <eek>
