This Number Kinda Scared Me!

This Number Kinda Scared Me!

Days until Christmas- 103.

Over the weekend I started pulling my Christmas stamp sets and I felt a rush of thoughts and emotions.

Things like:

  • Didn’t we just do this?
  • How can this be coming up so quickly?
  • I kinda like Christmas music.
  • Christmas cookies are yummy
  • I have to pull all those decorations out of the attic? UGH!
  • I like stamping Christmas trees…

I decided to go to my trusty google and type in the question of the day….

How many days until Christmas?

This popped up and immediately I started laughing.

Obviously someone else feels the same way I do.  Maybe you are feeling the same?

Spirt of Christmas Begins

I realize for some of you this may be an easy task.

It’s not that I don’t love the season because honestly it’s my favorite.  I love EVERYTHING about it.  It just takes me a little while to get my Christmas groove on.

This weekend when I pulled the Christmas sets together and I started to create the Christmas mojo started happening.

It doesn’t take much because stamping during this season comes very naturally for me.

Unlike Spring and Summer where I sit and stare at floral images for hours….

Does this happen to anyone?

The first stamp set I started with was the Twinkle Trees Photopolymer stamp set.

I love the large tree in this stamp set and off the top of my head I knew I wanted to use it as the background instead of the focal point.

Pair Stamp Sets Together

I paired the Twinkle Trees stamp set with the Candy Cane Christmas stamp set.  I love the font in the greetings.

I’m a HUGE fan of non traditional colors for Christmas.  The pinks and blues are my favorites to use and of course I still use a little red and green at times.

All the products around this greeting/tag makes me put on my happy pants.

I love how adding a smidgen of gold really made this greeting pop a little more.

A few of my favorite products I used:

  • Layering Circle Frameits
  • Bakers Twine Trio Pack
  • White Delicate Doilies
  • Fancy Frost Sequins
  • Candy Cane Designer Washi Tape

All of this love around the image exceeds my happiness level.  YAY YAY YAY.

Forget the Number and Create!

Once I got in my Christmas mood, the amount of days left until Christmas quickly left my crazy brain and I was on my way to a carefree creating session.

Don’t let the number get in your way.

Choose a stamp set you are in love with and start creating.

Tips & Tricks

  • Use half of the circle scallop die cut instead of the whole circle.  I love how these tiny scallops look.
  • Wrap the Gold Twine like a bow underneath all of the elements and kept it in place using dimensionals.
  • Wash Tape- USE it.  Remember that you can add a fun element to your envelopes by putting a piece of Washi Tape across the bottom or seal the envelope with the Washi.  This looks AWESOME.
  • The Fine-Tip Glue Pen is perfect to keep sequins in place.

  1. Love this card, esp the subtle background you created with the trees. You have made many outstanding projects as part of the Design Team:)
