A Simple Word of Gratitude!

Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Kimberly Van Diepen

Together one last moment!

Gratitude! Russ and I have a heartfelt feeling of gratitude over this past week. Together we have read your comments and emails and cannot thank you enough for your support, prayers and stories.  I cannot express enough the gratitude I am feeling.  Our family and many other military families appreciate you!

Today starts our new adventure.

I've shed enough tears this past week that even the most expensive eye cream wouldn't help me but I know it will get better with time. (Actually it's really hard writing this post with cucumbers on my eyeballs!) We've also laughed hysterically at ourselves this past week.  It got to the point the last few days that we couldn't look at each other.  If he looked at me, I cried.  Then when I looked at him he would make a face and I laughed.  It's what we do and it got us through this week.

I've been away from my stamp room for a week and I eagerly await getting my groove back.  The kids and I have a zoo trip planned tomorrow since there is no school.  I'm looking forward to a great diversion for the kids and myself.   Then tomorrow evening I'm actually turning the lights on in my stamp room and inking some stamps.  There will be some kind of inspiration soon and I know as soon as the rubber hits the ink I will feel an overwhelming smile come over my face.

Again, we thank you more than you will ever know.

  3. I've been thinking about you a lot lately. One reason is because I think of your and Russ' story and how I wish you didn't have to be apart but so grateful for his service to our country.  The other reason is because you are all OVER Stampin' Success this month with your gorgeous smiling face. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and your talent. You make stamping so much fun!

  8. Hey Kimberly!
Hugs from Canada:)  Not that Nathan has met you (my four year old) but I was reading your post and shed a few tears for you.  He asked me to let you know he says,  "don't cry cause it's raining outside and we have enough water!" (so there….right from the four year old himself!)  Truly though, enjoy your stamp therapy!  Miss you!

  9. very cute picture … its not easy but i do hope the time you are apart from each other is easy as possible.  you are so inspiring and creative … can't wait to see what you create during your stamp therapy! 🙂 🙂

You have such a fabulous family – and such an extended family – we are all here for you and your kids/The Prince….for whatever you need/want to share.  Huge hugs to you and your kids….we look forward to you getting back into your creative mode again but don't worry, we are just sitting here waiting for you…so take whatever time you need!

  11. Hi Kimberly,
I have been reading Russ's post and yours.  We also shed tears here for you.  It was awesome that Tony got to meet you guys last year on the SU trip.  We have shared tears and chatted on how we truly need to appreciate every minute we spend together.  Thank you for reminding us that.  My thoughts & prayers are with you guys and can't wait to see you on the Alaska cruise and finally meet the kids:)  If ever you feel a huge down moment, don't hesitate, I'll just have to stop by for a hug,  ROAD TRIPPPP…..!

  13. Hi Kimberly,
just wanted to let you know that you and Russ are in my thoughts and prayers.
As a Navy wife I understand what you're feeling right now, but as you said it will get better with time.

  14. Dear Kimberly, Not a day has gone by that I haven't thought about you and your family. I am praying for Russ' safety, your strength, and the kids' trust that everything will be OK and their daddy will be home soon. The sweet story of your family brings happiness to so many; I hope in return you are richly blessed with whatever it takes to get you through this. Sending hugs to you!

  15. With my hand over my heart..thank you for "sharing" you husband with us all We as a ation are forever greatful for his service.

  16. {Hugs from N.B., Canada} not a day goes by, lately, that I don't check my email to see if the day has come; no words that other than I join in all the well wishers, with the same thoughts; hopefully this won't be a *long* deployment; you're smile lights a candle any where & I can't wait to you get your groove back & share once again.

  17. Kimberly ~ you are in my thoughts & prayers ~ consider yourself hugged ~ I've been following your blog for some time now ~ not knowing what to say has kept me from sending you a message ~ but I just couldn't keep reading without letting you know that this air force brat from Canada is thinking about you ~ I am praying for you and your family!

Just wanted to say Wow!!  You are an amazing woman.  First of all I want to say THANK YOU and your family for the service Russ"your Prince" is doing for our country.  I thank our troops and families every day in prayer.  May God bless you and watch over all of you.  You truly amaze me and obviously others around you, on your strength, courage and great humor.  Thank you too for all you do for our stamping community. Great picture with the feet….great idea! Hang in there, I was an Air Force BRAT (some say I still am, a brat), but remember my dad always having to be ready and the good byes….  He has been retired since 1981, but we hold our military families in our hearts always!  Big BIG HUGE hugs!!!!  Tree

  19. Kimberly….will keep your PRINCE in our prayers. I am a VN Vet.. didn't actually go over there, but I worked as a supv of military coming and going over the years and felt like I had been there with them when they would tell me stories, and talk about their ordeals , both good and bad. I wonder if the avg person who has not spent a life around military really understand what all those guys do for us when they get shipped out to defend EVERYONE, both supportive and non-supportive… but they are there defending us, putting their lives on the line "literally" every day. God Bless you and your family and your Prince…as he goes again to guarantee our freedom. Thank you to all the Military wives, families and the Military themselves for trying to keep our wonder country just that.. a wonderful place to live.

  20. May you all know you are in our hearts and prayers.  God speed to your dear, brave husband. 🙂 Big hugs.

  21. Kimberly — Big hugs and prayers are sent your way from Florida. And sent to your prince. Please tell him thank you. And stamp, stamp, stamp until you can't think about anything else!

  22. Big hugs for you all. Hope it will be done before you know it. Please let me know if you need anything at all – we are only a hop, skip, and a jump away! Russ, thanks so much for your service and for the sacrifices of you all.

  23. Kimberly,
I'm new to your blog, but already have watched every youtube video you've ever put out there!   You are awe inspiring – as so many have told you…
I hope that you know you are in so many prayers and thoughts.  If you want a great comfort – youtube search Laura Story's  "Blessings".  It is a beautiful song that will surely touch those oh so tender spots in your heart right now.  Praying for you and your Prince – all the way from Alaska!

  24. Just wanted to let both yourself & your Prince know the two of you as well as your kids are in my thoughts & prayers.

Thanks for all you do Prince – America the beautiful!

Stay strong Kimberly – laughter always makes things better.

  25. Kimberly    I feel for you. Although I have never been through it and the only time I am without my husband is when I go to convention. But, I do watch Army wives and I feel like I can relate. Although it's heart renching when they leave, I love the closeness you have with other wives. Is that the case in real life or is only on the TV program?
I am sure once you get into stamping, it will ease you a little. I know when things aren't going so great in my life….I stamp and I forget everything else around me and then I feel much better.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family mostly RUSS for a save return!!!! I love reading your blog and mostly seeing your creations but love the stories.
    Inky Hugs,

  26. Lots of Hugs coming your way! I've been reading your blog each day and loved that Russ even had a chance to say a bit. You are both amazing people. I'll pray for Russ' safety and for you and your kids too. I miss you…hope to see you at convention!
