I tried really hard to make it back into my stamp room on Monday. It didn't happen. I was so busy with the kids on Monday and then the next two days were spent catching up on everything I let go for the last week and half. It's kinda like when you go on vacation and you come back home to a mess. Well I wouldn't call my time away a vacation but what I left was a mess. I'm back! The lights are turned on in my stamp room and my Summer Mini pre-order arrived with lots of fun new stamps. I'm excited to show you a few new sneak peeks. You have to check out the awesome Spring is Blooming special that Stampin' Up! has this month. I am getting ready to put together a free class for you with this stamp set and the paper. Make sure you check out the special and later this week I will have the supply list ready for what you will need. You can find all the supplies in my Online Store.
Tonight I have a card that is just too darn cute. The stamp set is Touch of Kindness and my favorite image is the three little birds with the bird bath. Lately I am completely obsessed with my new bird feeder outside and learning what kinds of birds that are coming to visit. They are all very cute birds except the Woodpecker! He likes to wake me up between 6-7am. Anyways, you know how much I love birds…. check this out!
I watercolored the image using Stazon Jet Black ink and then used my Blender Pen and Ink Pads to color the images on Very Vanilla cardstock. I love my Blender Pens. You will notice the Pattern Paper on this card is the Paisley Petals. You can find the Spring is Blooming special HERE. You will love the designer paper and this is a great special to take advantage of as this set will not be available again until JULY! Yikes. You can find all the supplies to make this card at the bottom.
I hope this gets you in the mood for Spring. Warm weather sure does make me happy and so did this card!
XOXOXO
Materials Used:
Stamps: Touch of Kindness
Ink: Marina Mist, Basic Gray, Stazon Jet Black, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzaz
Cardstock:Pear Pizzaz, River Rock, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Crystal Effects, Blender Pens, Perfect Polka Dots Impression Folder, Marina Mist Taffeta ribbon, Paisley Petals DSP
Creative Tip: If you look closely at the card you can see I used Crystal Effects on the water splashing in the bird bath. Be very careful when applying Crystal Effects. It does come out of the tube pretty quickly and you don't want to ruin a perfect project. Crystal Effects is a fantastic clear adhesive and fun to add to projects you want to have the wet look. It also drys pretty quickly. Creative Tip #2: Remember when you are using your Blender Pens with Very Vanilla cardstock to keep the Blender Pen blending smoothly downward so you do not create "Paper Boogers!" Paper Boogers happen when you continue to use the Blender Pen in the same spot of cardstock. The paper starts to roll and lifts off of the cardstock. You can prevent this by blending your ink in a downward motion constantly moving your Blender Pen.
Have a GREAT week!

Oh……i hear you about those pesky woodpeckers! A couple of years ago we had a woodpecker in our neighborhood that would not leave our house alone…..yep, you read me right – our house. we are the only one's on our part of the neighborhood that does not have any exposed wood on our home….and he would peck at our aluminum gutters at insane hours of the morning…..argh!!
i am glad you are able to get back to your studio for some crafty therapy……just know there are people out here that appreciate the sacrifices your family make for the safety of the rest of us. {{huge cyber hugs to your whole family}}

Just an off topic comment: I'm afraid I find the new font much more difficult to read. Maybe it's my 50+ year old eyeballs.
All the Best, MM
