Stampin’ Up! New Blends Artisan Hop

The excitement has been building about the newest Stampin’ Blends Markers from Stampin’ Up! I couldn’t wait to get a hold of the markers and start coloring.  Coloring, in general, has always been a very relaxing activity for me.  I love how you can bring any image to life with color.  Today the Artisans are sharing beautiful projects using many different stamp sets and the Stampin’ Blends Markers giving you inspiration.

The Stampin’ Blends Markers are the perfect medium to make your stamp images pop!

Stampin’ Up!’s premier alcohol markers, Stampin’ Blends are high-quality, dual-tip markers that come in 12 of Stampin’ Up!’s exclusive colors, each with a light and dark shade. Maybe you don’t think of yourself as an artist, but you don’t need to be because these markers make it super easy to blend colors and create gorgeous works of art!

Today I’m sharing a card using the Holly Berry Happiness Photopolymer Stamp Set.  I love how beautiful the holly leaves turned out using the Old Olive Stampin’ Blends both light and dark shades.

Tips & Tricks

Here are a few tips when creating this card:

  • I stamped the Holly Berry Branch images onto Whisper White cardstock using Black Memento Ink, then colored in using the Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  I started with the light Stampin’ Blend first.  Then added a few darker highlights using the darker Old Olive shade.  Once the image was colored, I used the lighter shade to go over the entire holly image to blend.
  • The bow was colored using the Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends.  Once stamped, I punched the image out using the Holly Berry Punch that coordinates beautifully with this stamp set.
  • I stamped the Cherry Cobbler cardstock randomly using Black Memento ink and the holly berry branch.  Then I attached the Cherry Cobbler cardstock to a piece of Whisper White cardstock using dimensionals, with a few of the colored holly branches placed underneath to add dimension.

I finished off the card with a little Linen Thread under the bow and a small piece of a Delicate White Doily.
