Vacation is over but I’m still thinking NAUTICAL!
Seriously! Reality stinks sometimes. Our trip to the Western Caribbean ended on Sunday, Mother’s Day. Russ and I had the time of our lives. We kicked back, relaxed for a week and counted all of our blessings over the last 6 months. We had many so a week was perfect to go over them.
My Prince had a GREAT time and did amazing. We knew the limitations before we set foot on the ship which helped Russ knowing he would not do the normal activities he does on our Stampin’ Up! trips. Just walking around that BIG ship was very tiring for him.
We were super excited that he received his walking aide prior to leaving on the cruise. This little device goes on his right leg just below the knee and tells his right foot to move up which helps with his foot drop. He was able to get a lot of walking time which was great therapy. Probably more than he bargained for.
One of the best parts of this trip was seeing demonstrators from all over the world that have prayed for him. It was great for those who prayed to see him, and it was especially great for Russ and I to personally thank them, hug them and tell them how much that special gift has meant to us. How great to meet our friends in Australia, Germany, Holland, New Zealand, and the UK. Seriously, it makes my cheeks hurt from smiling.
We were also able to connect with our friends and fellow demonstrators in the US who prayed hard for him. Russ was able to share his story, share his progress and best of all get lots of hugs from friends. Russ said this was his “pillow gift” each day.
Much of the trip we spent very low key either at the pool or in our room on the balcony going over the last 6 months and things we have learned and the blessings we have received. God is so good. SO SO good.
I’ll share pics in my next post plus funnies of our trip and coming home. You know we have them.
Meanwhile let’s get inspired with a nautical themed card today. This picture is the inspiration and I love it. I want all of the nautical goods in the pictures.
Being a Navy wife I love anything Nautical and one of my favorite sets in the Spring Occasions Mini is the Hello, Sailor stamp set.
This set is NOT in our new catalog so get it while you can by shopping HERE.
The red circle was created using a Red Metal Sheets from Addalittledazzle.com along with the Circle Framelits. I then Texture embossed the metal sheet using the Argyle Texture Embossing Folder. Love how this turned out. This could be a great manly card.
I tied the Gold Twine in two areas and then stapled onto the metal sheet. Adding the staple made sure it was secure. I couldn’t help but add a little Vellum to my card. I did a very crooked stitch around the Vellum and loved how it softens the Maritime Designer Series Paper in the NEW catalog.
I used the Gold Encore ink and stamped the Best Mate image onto Whisper White cardstock. This image was punched using the Label Bracket punch. The image is a little bigger than the punch but I was able to capture all of the greeting.
Lastly, I used the Gold Bakers Twine and pulled out the Gold thread to put in my Whisper White button. One gold sequin was added and a Rhinestone to finish the embellishments.
You can see all the supplies I used down below. Click on the images and you can shop directly in my Online Store.
What’s NEW?
Have you seen the clearance rack lately? Make sure to check out all of the GREAT deals HERE.

Soooo glad that Russ was able to enjoy the cruise and get some wonderful exercise! How wonderful that he has a walking assist….will help him a lot! Knew you would have a lot of well wishers on the cruise and so excited for both of you to be able to thank them in person – from one end of the world to another! Your inspiration is fabulous – would love to live near the ocean and have many of those items in the picture! Your actual card is great…love the metal…must use mine more often as it adds such color and texture! Take good care….hugs to you both and look forward to pics and stories!
I just love YOU!!! XOXO
Thank you Michelle. It was a great time. Now to catch up on everything at home. 🙂
It was awesome to get away. Much needed break. But you know how vacations go. You need another vacation once you get home from all the craziness of being behind. LOL.
