Think Spring- Backyard Basics

It’s time to think Spring with the Backyard Basics stamp set!

The weather wasn’t very cooperative yesterday for many of my stamping friends.  This winter has been a rough one and even for this Florida girl.  I’ve been colder than I really like.  I hope today’s card brings you a little sunshine.

Color & Cut

Backyard Basics is a stamp set that truly takes the ease of cutting it yourself away.  With the coordinating framelits the work is complete for you giving you time to cut more and create more.

Once my images were stamped on Naturals White cardstock I did a quick watercolor using an Aqua Painter and ink pad.  I then put my images through my Big Shot using the coordinating Backyard Basics framelits.

Creating a Unique Background

To create this unique background that the egg and birdie rest upon I used the Deco Labels Collection framelits and the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die.

  • First cut the Deco Label Framelit using Naturals White cardstock.
  • Using a piece of 4 x 4 piece of Naturals White cardstock, use the Hexagon Hive Thinlit to create your background.  Run this same piece again through the Big Shot using the SAME Deco Label Framelit you used the first time.
  • Layer your Hexagon Hive pattern on top of the Deco Label using dimensionals on the non open Hexagons.

To finish this card I added a few strips of Daffodil Delight cardstock banner strips and Lace ribbon.  Using the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, I created my Happy Easter banner.  I added a tiny gold scallop strip using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border and Gold Foil.  I love this small detail of Gold on this card.
