The video delay!

Last night I was doing the video and right in the middle I see out of the corner of my eyes a HUGE bug!  Now imagine that it's after midnight and I know Russ is fast asleep and the bug is HUGE!  So, I wish I could say I cut that part out of the video… but I didn't.  You will see first hand how I do NOT like bugs.  You will also find out what happened to the bug! I am trying to figure out how to do that video editing stuff but really I would rather spend my time creating.  Something that I am lacking as I'm trying to get the house in order.  Maybe one day I will learn or better yet Russ will.  Also, I know that You Tube can support a video up to 15 minutes, but I talked longer on this one.  I am going to try REALLY hard not to go over the next time so the video's are not split.  Hang in there with me guys.  I'm creative with stamps just not these videos.  They really give me fits! Sooooooo I hope I don't BORE you to pieces!

Tonight's video is all about balance.  Remember that all of us have different lives so this little schedule of mine may not work for you at all.  Maybe some of the tips given can help you adapt a few things into your day.  I know there are many of you that work full time and do Stampin' Up! and I am unsure what to tell you except be an expert at time management.  I know there are great books out there that can help.  I believe all things are possible if you want something bad enough.

I also realize there are still questions on how to approach strangers.   Give me about a week and I will come up with a plan on that. I can share many conversations that I have had in the past.  We will approach the subject again very soon.  Those of you out there building, don't stop! Keep passing out those cards.  We are on a MISSION! ;)

Here is the video!  Go to the bathroom before you watch it.

  1. Kimberly, I love the video series!  This is just what I needed to get inspired. Loved your hair accessory.  Did you make that?

  2. I think you handled the bug part well.  Much better than I would have.  Loving the videos.  Thanks for sharing.

  3. Kimberly, I'm loving these videos! I'vebeen a demo for 3 years, figuring things out as I go and I'm now trying to really make a profitable business of this. What's great is that I hear you say things and I just nod, because that is exactly what I thought too, but hearing it from you means I must be on the right track! Plus I'm getting lots of good ideas and inspiration. So Thanks, and Congrats!

  4. You are adorable!! And I am so glad you left the bug part in – so funny!   Thank you sooo much for doing these videos for us – so very generous of you to take the time to do them.  And on another note – how much do you love the new buttons?!  BFB – big fat buttons – I just can't get enough of them!  And if your cards are going to be that cute you should by all means be making those and not messing around with editing – two videos works just as well as one!  And I am so calling my blog surfing research and development from now on – but I am going to set a timer 🙂

  5. Hi Kimberly,
Firstly thankyou so much for your email message the other night it meant a whole lot to me personally.  Secondly I am right there with you on the bug thing. . . .I ABSOLUTELY hate them to pieces!!!  I could not have continued with the video and I don't know how you did. . . .yes I do you are a professional.  I would have run from the room screaming to my husband to come kill the monster in my room hehehe.  Once again your videos are totally inspiring to me as I am sure they are to other demonstrators out there.
Thankyou so much Kimberly for taking time out of you very busy schedule to do this.  I am looking forward to seeing your amazing creative space.

  6. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos. They are fantastic!  I love your candidness.  I went to conference wanting to "learn from the best", and now I'm getting the opportunity to learn even more than at conference.  But, I wouldn't have really known about you unless I went.
Regarding the bug….. you handled it very well …. I was expecting a huge shriek!

  7. Really enjoying the videos Kimberley. Thankyou for giving so much of your time and experience on them. It has given me lots of ideas and inspiration. The bug part was soooooo funny (I know you didn't think so …). Hope it's gone!

  8. Oh, I'm totally with you on the bug thing.  Once I know it's there, I can't concentrate on anything else!

  9. Hi Kimberly – Welcome to the DC area! I'm up in Fairfax, so not too far.  Would love to meet up with you sometime. It's nice to get to know the other demos in the area!
Best wishes and thanks for all the video business advice!

  10. Hi Kimberly,
Love these videos and I'm glad you didn't edit the bug thing!  I also look forward to seeing your office and hearing more about how to approach strangers!
    Keep the videos coming!

  11. Oh my goodness…you crack me up with the bug issue…I too don't like bugs but there is one thing I have learned about bugs;  there are good bugs and bad bugs…crickets are one of the good bugs and bring you good luck…it's a lot better than mosquitoes (one of the bad ones)  which is what we have a lot of here in Massachusetts.
Thank you for taking the time to share all this valuable info. with all of us and for yet another private message.  I totally agree, attitude is everything and I think that is the reason why I decided to take a year off to have that time to rebuild my sanity and attitude (hello…three moves and a flood all in a year's time???!!!)…thankfully, one of the advantages about travelling/moving so much has given me a pretty good customer base that can allow me to take a break and still keep my demonstratorship.
    Can't wait until tonight's video!!!
    Lots of Hugs!!!

  12. awww..I was waiting to see the bug!! tee hee I replayed it again cuz I thought I missed it! lol
I totally am LOVING your vid series! Great idea, and you are great on screen! Thakyou for all the info you are sharing with us!

  13. Kimberly, I am really enjoying your videos!  We have a lot of similarities (night owl, work better under pressure) so it is encouraging to see how successful you are!  I have been a demo for 6 years – very much a hobbyist – I am my only customer.  I work full time, but would love to be able to turn SU in to a business.  I am just terrified of trying to find customers and being rejected!  I really liked this video on time management – that is something that i really need to work on.  My discipline sucks!  I look forward to seeing your stamp room and how you have everything organized!

  14. Kimberly, I absolutely LOVE your videos and I really appreciate your sharing!  Please keep it up!  And I would LOVE to "see" you stamp, so if you can do a video with you demo'ing something (even a simple something!), I'd just love that so much.
I'm a semi-business demo – I'm a piano teacher, and some of my best customers are my "piano moms".  I also sell some of my cards (too cheaply, I'm afraid, but they're paying for lessons, so I hate to charge too much for my cards) to some piano moms too.  I guess you would call me an "almost breaking even demo".  Heehee…

Anyway, I can't wait til the next video and thanks again!!

  15. Kimberly,
Thanks for caring about us and making these videos.
I got the book Build it Big in the mail today and have already learned things and haven't even finished the first chapter.  Thanks for telling us about it!!  Looking forward to the rest of your videos.  Thanks for all your advice.

  16. Hi Kim…one more thing…have you considered posting all these great videos along with your past ones in the Stampin'Connection video section?
Have a great weekend…looking forward to the next video!!!

  17. Kimberly,
First off, you look FABULOUS for 12:10 in the morning!  Second, thanks so much for doing these videos.  I am a demo who is trying to be a business demo and I work full time outside the home and have two little kids.  It is always great to get info on what other demos are doing to promote, how they run their business, and how the juggle life whether they work outside the home or not.  It really gives me some motivation.  And lastly, you are way too darn cute.  Lovin' the bug part and everything.  I don't think you need to edit one bit.  Thanks again,
    Ashlee

  18. Another great video! Love that you didn't edit out finding that bug..you handled that very well btw! You are a true inspiration and I value all of the information you have been sharing with us! I also wanted to say that  I can see why you are SU's number 1 Demonstrator ..  I look forward to your last video and cannot wait to see more of your craft room! !  Oh, and it would be great if you worked on your added  "creative time"  card right on the video rather than adding the post after the video!  Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!
