Sunshine- Something I Enjoy!
Sunshine, it’s one of my little things I enjoy.
In fact today I finally spent a few hours in my pool in between working. I’ve only been able to relax in the pool 3 times this year and the opportunity was today with the sun shining bright.
You would think working from home I would have the pool at my disposal more often. However I let many other things come between me getting in the pool- laundry, Facebook, work…and sometimes I am just LAZY. You get it, right?
Creating Sunshine
Sometimes my laziness causes me to create my own sunshine in my stamp room. I love this kind of sunshine too.
Each year Stampin’ Up! puts together a card swap for the incentive trips. As usual I procrastinate until the last minute which causes a bit of panic to set in 3 days prior to leaving on the trip.
This year I think I beat all previous years in procrastinating until the bitter end to get my card swaps done.
It’s a good thing I work well under pressure because although my card swap is quick and simple, I ended up loving it.
Incentive Trip Card Swap
The greetings in the new Layering Love stamp set described how I felt about our trip. It’s all about the little things.
Layering Love stamp set coordinates perfectly with our new Layering Square, Circle, Oval and Heart Framelits. Each of the greetings can fit into one or more of the framelits.
I chose to use the Layering Square Framelits for my card below.
Adding the Sunshine!
While the greeting from the Layering Love stamp set would have been fine alone, I thought it would be fun to add the word sunshine from the Crazy About You stamp set. This set has many words to work with and the font reminds me of a typewriter. You can see this set on Page 70 of the new Idea Book & Catalog. I embossed the word sunshine using White Embossing Powder. This made the greeting really stand out.
To add more sunshine I stamped the sun using Daffodil Delight ink from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set.
To keep the elements together I stapled them together and then attached the Whisper White square to the scallop square using dimensionals.
The Designer paper is from the Pop of Pink collection.
Final Touch
I love adding embellishments to a card. It’s an inexpensive way to make a card look finished. The final touch for this card was the Bermuda Bay Thick Bakers Twine.
Notice that the twine was pulled a part so it wasn’t too thick and then I simply coiled it up and attached to the greeting using a staple.
