Playtime with New Stamps!

Playtime with New Stamps!

Playtime with new stamps couldn’t be any sweeter.  I felt like it was Christmas today when the box arrived.

The only problem was I really had to refrain from tearing into that box as I had other work related things that had to be done.

Now I know exactly how my kids feel when they have something fun and new and can’t play.

I have a fun card to share today and a few more samples from the OnStage event from the product display stampers.  Superb talent from these stampers which I think you will totally enjoy.

Reward Yourself!

Once I had everything caught up (well that’s actually not a word I use often- caught up!) I did tear into the box and I had one stamp set in particular that  I wanted to play with- Marquee Messages.

This is a super fun stamp set and has a retro/vintage appeal.  Right up my alley.

I flirted with a new In Color….  Can you guess which one?

Flirty Flamingo (SO PRETTY-SO NEW!) is the lightest pink you see on this card (the arrow image).  I love how this pairs with the other colors I used- Pool Party and Watermelon Wonder. The black made everything pop.

This stamp set has perfect greetings and one greeting that says “Invited”.

Invitations would be super fun to create using this set.

The main image for this card was created by paper piecing.  I embossed each of the images using Basic Black and Clear Embossing Powder, then fussy cut each of the images and pieced back together.  This was not difficult and I love how the arrow pops.

The Designer Series Paper that you see is also a new product called Playful Palette.  It’s definitely playful and has great patterns within this DSP pack.

What do you think? Do you like these colors together??

Quick Tricks & Tips

  • Emboss the images by inking your image with VersaMark first, then ink again using Archival Basic Black ink.  Stamp the image onto your cardstock and pour Clear Embossing Powder over the image.
  • The string you see in the top corner is one of my favorites and on the retiring list.  I am so so sad to see this ribbon go.  It’s called 1-1/4″ White Jute Ribbon.  My favorite thing to do with this ribbon is pull the individual threads to use on my cards.  It’s really thick and wraps around in circles easily. Try it and tell me what you think.
