Petal Potpourri + Giveaway!
It’s kinda rare that I stamp using flowers but I love to watercolor and flowers seem to be the best.
The Petal Potpourri stamp set is mostly a stamp and punch type of set but there is one flower image that is fun to watercolor.
Make sure to check out the giveaway at the bottom of this post.
One of the things I’m noticing in my studio is the abundance of pattern paper sitting. Not moving. Nada. Dust bunny collectors.
Not good!
I decided to dive in. It needs to be used. You could be seeing lots of patterns being used soon. Of course you probably could have guessed what I pulled out first- Typeset Designer Paper. I do adore this stuff.
To create these flowers it’s SUPER simple and again fits my laziness.
Just stamp your flowers onto the Designer Paper using Black Craft Ink. Emboss them using Clear Embossing Powder. Before you punch you want to watercolor.
I simply used my Aqua Painter and did a quick brush with three different colors. Kinda like I did with the card I shared yesterday. If the color was too light I went back over it a little. Because the paper is thin, I went ahead and heat set with my heat tool.
Guess what?
When you apply the ink and it’s pretty wet the paper feels really texturized once you heat set. I love it.
The last thing to add to the card is a few embellishments. Love that the buttons perfectly coordinate. P E R F E C T I O N!
Okay… I have a fun prize sitting in my studio that needs a good home. Wanna play?
Leave a comment and tell me one stamp set that you need INSPIRATION to create with.
To play, leave your comment below by Sunday, March 22nd 11:59pm. I’ll pick one lucky winner on Monday morning.
Don’t miss out on the deals this week. Great embossing folders on sale.
Great news for Russ and I this weekend. We will have the house to ourselves. Say what???
Alexis has a State competition with her school and Brandon has a church retreat.
We ARE giddy!
Hope your weekend is filled with great things.
XOXOXO

DEAR Kimberly,
I would VERY MUCH APPRECIATE help with the Stamping Up Stamp Set “An Open Heart”. I know, just bought it….but, now have dust bunnies in the brain when it comes to this set. Love the bird, leaves and berries branch and phrases. I like to use my sets with many uses on cards and scrapbook, such as how to make this into a Bible Journalism theme, birthday card and a bestows of friend type card. Any inspiration would be so appreciated!!! If you do not have that set, how about our Some set from Oct thru Dec, maybe using the trees in spring time type theme…Easter theme or as a thank you card. Both areally gathering dust. Maybe a tutorial for us newbies on how to use our ink pads to color a image or card. Do you use paint brushes if you do not have water pens???? I am ina creative dust gathering phase…..H.E.L.P.!!!
I could use some inspiration on the Sweet Laughter stamp set. I purchased it because the sentiments were so sweet, but I’m not sure how to pull it together to make a cute card. I’m not crazy about the little blossom, but it fits the sentiment so well that I think it needs to be incorporated.
Help!!! I buy the Ronald McDonald set every year…but this year’s has me stumped — “Flamingo Lingo” is almost a year old, and has yet to see any ink!!!!
Thanks for the ideas…
I don’t know if you have either of these two sets ( maybe not you style), but Moon Lake and Walk in the Wild are two sets that I love but I need to find inspiration to make some masculine cards with them. Masculine cards are hardest for me! Have fun this weekend with just the two of you…. 🙂
Hi Kim, I’m having troubles trying to find different ways of using the stamp set “from the garden” ! Any ideas would be helpful ! Thank You
I have the Moon Lake set and really need more masculine style cards but I’m stumped!
Masculine cards are always hard for me also. My father always took great pride on his rose garden and bird feeding he did. Looks like I could use some man cards to learn. I only have the fall winter stamps in mail set and Father’s Day would be a great card. My other sets are picnic typebasket from 1998 and a fishing net from same year of S.u.
Great idea for man cards ladies…limited on new stamps I HAVE to use…mine were newyardsale finds. Darn typing with stylus, ..glad I do not create cards with a stylus!!! *^?^*

So You stamp set. I really like this set for scrapbooking but I haven’t found a way to incorporate it into cards. I adore your style and would love to see what you’d do with it!
Love the set Crazy for You. Not seeing very many samples and would love to get some miles out of the set! Thanks so much!
I could use some inspiration for Crazy for You. Love the possibility of the sentiments but I’m stuck on the images. I would love to see the set “Kimberlyized” 🙂 Thanks for all of the inspiration and for the chance to win!
I would love some inspiration with any stamp set being used for masculine cards. I really sturggle with that. Or, it’s always fun to see a stamp set used in a way it’s not intended. Thanks for the chance to win the blog giveaway!
The set I need more inspiration to play with is “Traveler’…it was the first set I purchased out of the new catalog but have hardly used it, yet its such a vintage set I love it…just having a hard time getting my mojo on that one! Thanks for all you share Kimberley! You are awesome!! Sherri
Please pick me, please pick me !!! So pretty….
Would love inspiration for using the Choose Happiness set I love, had to have but have yet to use!! Ack! Thank you!!
Sea Street and Peace, Love & Cupcakes are both sets that haven’t seen ink since I purchased them — inspiration would be great!
Hi Kimberly,
I am so thrilled that this year there are so many guy sets this year, but I need ideas for Guy Greetings. Love the images and greetings but I’m not sure how to pull it together. Thanks for the offer to help with a stamp set that stumps all of us, and for the chance to win that sweet album. Good luck to Alexis at her competition, and enjoy your weekend alone with Russ!!
I love your card Kimberly. These are great colors! I could use inspiration for the Crazy about You stamp set!
The stamp set I just bought is “For The Birds”. I love it but need some ideas. Love your cards and sharing about your family. God bless you all.
I have a hard time with “In This Together” set. I like it but not to sure about wgat to do to make it really fun.
“Remembering Your Birthday” is such a basic stamp set but wondering what Kimberly would do with it! You could take it to a level that none of us would think of doing. Have a great weekend!
I need so much help with masculine cards. All I can think of is using neutral papers and not too busy. Thanks for the chance to win some candy.
I can never predict before I purchase what sets I’ll use! I’m having a really hard time creating a card I love and want to give using the fabulous Butterfly Basics! Seems like it would make itself, but I’m lacking inspiration!
Hi! I could definitely use help with “Traveler” or “Boys will be Boys.” Masculine cards can be so hard! I have 3 young boys (4 and under!) so I guess I better get in the groove sooner or later! I don’t want to “girl” it up, but I also want it to look like I put SOME time and effort into it! lol Have a fun weekend with the hubby! Maybe in a few years we’ll get one of those too!
would love to get some creative inspiration for the “Happy Hooray” stamp set – every image in this set appeals to me however I haven’t had a chance to use it yet!
I need some inspiration for the build a bouquet set other then just making the flower bouquet. Thanks for a chance to win!
For your country – I have made a couple of simple cards for my son when he was in basic training but it was always difficult to put a good card together with it. In theory you would think it was simple, but apparently not for me! Living near military and always needing something for a “pick me up” for the kiddos friends makes me need some better uses for this set.
One Tag Fits All is a tough one for me. Struggling with the right layout for a card!
I need inspiration for The Open Sea. I feel like I have exhausted all my options. I can’t think of any other way to use the stamp set.
Postage Due sits in my cupboard used once, it is one I definitely need some “Kimberley” help on.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend with Russ,
I would love help with the For the Birds stamp set.Hope you and Russ had a fun evening without your kiddos:)

Kimberly,
Lovely as a tree as been around for ages. So many of the ideas I have for the set have “been there, done that”. Can you sprinkle some of your creative pixie dust in that direction. Love your blog!

this is an old set, knobbly gnomes. it’s so cute and I can’t stand to part with it. yet I have never used it. I always sit and stare at the images and find myself stuck!
Lotus Blossom Stamp set. I thought I would use it a lot, but I have fizzled out after just a few cards and they were pretty close to the same. Thanks
