Need a Quick Treat Bag? |Stampin’ Up!

It’s not often I’ve found a birthday stamp set that not only serves as a Birthday set but also as a “anything” set.  The Amazing Birthday stamp set is perfect for making a quick gift bag for any occasion.

If you are new to my blog I’m sharing my Stampin’ Up! Convention display stamping projects.

Today’s share is a fun treat bag all dressed up.

Stampin’ Up!’s treat bags are fun and simple to decorate.

We have two types- Chevron’s or Polka Dots.  These sweet little treat bags are perfect for giving small gift trinkets.

Dressing up a Treat Bag

Place a simple treat in one of our treat bags and then fold the top down and staple shut.  Next it’s time to decorate.

I used a piece of our Typeset DSP and wrapped the paper around the treat bag.  I also added several of our beautiful ribbons to layer around the paper and a doily.  Once all pieces were layered I did a quick vertical stitch with my sewing machine to keep the paper permanently wrapped.

To make the focal point for this treat bag I stamped the Amazing Birthday image on Vellum and Gold embossed.  I then placed the embossed vellum piece over a layer of Typeset DSP.  This gave a soft look to the sentiment and the vintage look using our beautiful Typeset DSP.

Before attaching the focal point, I added a heavy layered bow of Basic Black Bakers Twine under the Typeset DSP.  I also added two banners.  One used a stamped image from Amazing Birthday and the other used a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper.  Both of these were die cut using the Banner Framelit.

I love how this stamp set has coordinating framelits and punches making stamping easier and less fussy cutting.

Next is the really fun part… giving your decorated gift bag to someone special.  The look on someones face when they receive a hand made gift is priceless.  It’s one of the things I encourage you to do more of.  Challenge yourself to make 2 or 3 of them and fill them with hard candies.  Find 2-3 people on a day your out and about and just give them this special treat bag.  Watch how you will change a persons day in an instant.

All supplies for this project can be found at the bottom of this post.

I love how you layer, emboss and generally make things so over the top – in the best ways!

  2. Kimberly – love the gift bag!!! I am going to try your “challenge” and make some of these and hand them to random people!! I can’t do it for a week though – fair time around here and it takes up all my spare time while it is going on. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
