Joyful Noise
It’s not a secret in my house that while I think I am making a joyful noise, it’s simply not.
It’s the one gift I wish I had as I love to sing up a storm while I’m stamping. However, that’s not a gift of mine. It was very apparent the other night as our church family went caroling around the area nursing homes and my kids went the opposite direction. All this time I thought they loved my singing. We had such a good time and I sang loudly despite.
Every single one of the residents in the nursing home enjoyed our singing and it was all I could do not to shed a tear or two. We brought little gifts with us and walked every single hall as we sang. We hugged them and showed as much love as we possibly could. Their tears of joy for those 30 minutes while we were there filled my heart.
Crafting a Joyful Noise
I figured if I couldn’t make a joyful noise with my mouth I could definitely craft one.
I had a piece of Filter Paper on my desk and decided to add it to my card.
This idea has been in my head for a few weeks and I’m glad I was able to finally put it use. I love how the Home for Christmas DSP coordinated with the FaLaLa thinlit.
I added a quick stitch across the die cut to keep it all in place.
The sequins I used on this card came from the Hello December Accessories Kit. They are a little bigger than our regular assortment in the catalog and I love the colors they provide. The gold especially. You can see all of the products I used below.
If you have some time this month take a trip to one of your local nursing homes. Visit with some of the lovely residents and bring a smile to their face and yours. Don’t forget to create something pretty too.
XOXOXO

FUN card! I love how you used the filter paper.
I love elderly people so much! I deliver meals each week for Meals on Wheels and the joy they bring me is endless. I love that they are so happy and smiling despite their homebound condition. They love to talk and have interesting stories and life lessons for me and my daughters (they go with me when not in school). There is one man in particular I like to spoil with hand-crafted decorations for the current holiday because he has been such a blessing to my whole family. I know they loved your singing even if you aren’t Celine Dion LOL!
