Germaphobic Here- Tissue Box
Yes, it’s true. I’m a total germaphobic. I blame it totally on my mother.
You would think with my nursing background that maybe I would be a bit more at ease around others who are sick. NOPE! Crazy thing is, once I know you are sick I am backing up. If I see that you are stuffy or coughing, I’m backing up faster. For sure if I found out you were sick to your stomach… I’m probably not even around you anymore. I left so fast you are spinning.
I’m pretty sure my kids will carry scars of my germaphobic behavior into their adult lives as well.
My “craziness” was on the verge of psychosis when the kids were little. You did not see my kids playing in Mc Donald’s fun play areas. The balls… I cringe just thinking about them. How about Chuck E Cheese? We would get the invites and I would want to hide it from my kids. That place was not my friend. I know, I’m terrible.
Even as the kids have gotten older I’m still the same germaphobic. Probably because they continue to share their germie selves with me.
Yesterday while at church I took note of so many sickies around me. If I had a mask I would have worn it. I thought instead I would make my sickie friends something nice to help them out and possibly add a tiny note for them to stay home….
Kleenex Box
I love a specific type of Mini Kleenex. I find them usually at my local grocery stores. Honestly, it’s all about the packaging. They are cute and not as bulky in my purse. I’ve made other tissue box holders in the past but this one would not fit my previous boxes. I decided to come up with one on my very own. I’m a little giddy over this cute thing….and I created a video so you can create them with me.
Products You Will Need:
I created two different ones using the same stamp sets but different designer series paper.
Here are the items you will need to create along with me:
- Crumb Cake cardstock 6 x 10-1/2″
- Typeset Designer Series Paper 2-1/2″ x 11
- Watermelon Wonder cardstock 1-7/8″ x 9″
- Gold Fancy Foil Vellum 1-7/8″ x 4-1/2″
- Whisper White cardstock 3/8″ x 4-1/4″
- Linen Thread
- Ornate Tag Topper Punch
- Banner Triple Punch
The stamp sets I used:
Remarkable You and A Dozen Thoughts
You will need a Blender Pen to color the flower and a scrap piece of Whisper White or Watercolor Paper which ever you desire.
You can see above the type of tissues that fit into this box.
Watch the video tutorial and create along with me. Yes, there are bloopers… like when I call Watermelon Wonder- Watercolor Wonder… but again you will get the gist of the project. <sigh>
Here you can see a closer look with the belly bands I made for the projects.
You can see a list of the products I used for both projects below.
I hope you enjoyed this fun project. This box is a perfect size to fit a little package of soup in it and maybe even a little gift card to Starbucks when they are feeling better. Think of it as a reward for staying home not passing the germs. <giggle> I promise I’m not that mean… Not only could you make these for family and friends who are battling the nasty colds, but a nice gift for healthy folks too.
