Dress Up with Stampin’ Up!

This past weekend was incredibly creative in my stamp room and it wasn't without a little help of some of my creative friends. The story holds true that when you get together with friends creative minds can create amazing things. It's pretty powerful! This was a very different type of get together. We called it our Virtual stamp night. It was 4 hours of creating over the internet on a conference call. It was almost as good as being with them physically. Our creative fun started exploding when we started getting crazy and dressing up these "Dress Up Framelits!" The giggling turned to roaring the more and more we were creating these. I love how these turned out.

It all starts with the Dress Up Framelit. #130101 in our Spring Mini Catalog.

We started out with a Crumb Cake cardstock and die cut the image. We used a beautiful vintage stamp set called Established Elegance and stamped a few images on the upper body of the Die Cut. One of them I kept clean without stamping.

To create the bottom dress I used Tulle. I have lots of tulle in my stamp room that I use for packaging and secretly hoarded our Tulle from the last mini catalog. Two of my dress forms (the two outside dress forms) uses the Tulle from our last mini. The center dress form was a tulle I purchased at a craft supply store. I tell you this because the Stampin' Up! Tulle is HIGH quality and doesn't "burn" as fast as other Tulle brands. I will create a video you will see later today that will demonstrate this.

This last dress form used the Crumb Cake Tulle and a little Island Indigo ink to create the color of the dress.

Once your dress form is created attach it to a wooden Skewer using Hot Glue.

I then placed a little tulle on the bottom of the wooden skewer and placed it inside the hole of a vintage thread spool. This is when you could hear me SQUEAL! This completed the project and now these sit beautifully on my desk. I love how they turned out and it's also a great reminder of an incredibly fun night of stamping with my friends.

Quick Tips:

*To create these fun dress forms you will need a Hot Glue Gun and your Heat Tool

*Cut a bunch of dress forms to have available in case you make a mistake a long the way. Besides, you will want to continue to create more and more of these.

*You will want to stamp the upper body first before you start adding the tulle.
