Dazzling Diva Challenge #20

Dazzling Diva Challenge #20

Dazzling Diva Challenge #20

I have something totally different today and I’m excited about it.

A few weeks before Russ had his stroke I met Monica from Add a Little Dazzle.  Monica sells Craft Metal Sheets that can be die cut, embossed and so much more.  The day Russ had his stroke I had my first card created using them and was in the process of blogging about the card when I received the phone call from Russ.  Needless to say that post never happened and the doors shut to my office for 3 months.

As things have progressed with Russ I am trying to slowly add some of the things I was excited about before.  I haven’t wanted to jump in quickly with the fear of not knowing what our schedule will be like.  Of course I’m learning there is no schedule some days.  Some days I can have a schedule of my own turn quickly into something completely different.  As much of a control freak that I am, it’s okay.  Being able to add little things back means we are progressing forward and that is a beautiful thing.

So, I’m back in action and I’m playing along on Add a Little Dazzle Design Team.  I love it because I am having FUN!!  Isn’t that what crafting is all about? Having fun?

Now for my Easter Card.  For this challenge it’s all about Spring/Easter or Anything Goes.  You can play along with the challenge and post your project HERE.

Love how this Copper Metal Sheet looks against the Cantaloupe Crisp cardstock.  I think it complements the cardstock so well.

I simply took the Copper Metal Sheet and ran it through my Big Shot using the Script Embossing folder.  Love love it.

I also love how the Venetian Romance Designer Paper compliments this card.  This cute little bunny stamp is from the Eggstra Spectacular set.     I made this fun egg using my oval framelits and the ruffle ribbon.  Just layer the ruffle ribbon either using sticky strip or a glue gun.  So simple. Once you have the layers of ribbon placed cut around the oval to make the ruffle ribbon even with the oval die cut.

You can see the link for the metal sheets in my side bar and all the products I used below in the links.

  1. Kimberly,

This is gorgeous! I have a stash of her metal ‘paper’ and I need to pull it out and create something beautiful like your card! Glad that you are getting more time in your craft room and hoping that Russ continues to make progress, small steps are big steps in the long run. Big hugs to you!

  3. Kimberly, this is the cutest card ever!!! I love the copper. I’m going to have to try that. What a great idea, I just love the look!!!

  4. Gorgeous card Kimberly…. I love the little use of the metal, really sets it off. I use the metal sheets too, and love how easy they are to incorporate into the cards. I’ll have to get out some of Monica’s metal and make something for Easter!!! Or Mother’s Day…

Hope all is going well with Russ. LOVE the card and cannot wait to CASE it! Tell Russ Prayers being sent for his recovery, and let him know it is definately possible to recover–I had a massive stroke in 2007 and was on a vent for months, have recovered 100% and I am back to driving taking care of the home and stamping!! God Bless.
