Celebrate Father’s Day

Celebrate Father’s Day

The countdown begins as Father’s Day approaches.  I’m racking my brain trying to figure out how to celebrate with Russ this year.

He is pretty low key typically and never asks for much.  Maybe a day without therapy would be a good for him or have the kids do what they love and make breakfast in bed.  Who knows, I’m sure we’ll come up with something.  BUT… I want it to be special this year.  If you have any ideas, throw them my way.

Normally I do not purchase baby stamp sets.  It’s very seldom that I know of friends having babies.  The funny thing is my friends are not having babies but becoming grandparents.  That’s pretty fun too although it will be AWHILE for me.

The Something for Baby stamp set caught my eye because of the matching framelits. The sweet baby buggy and the ties are just adorable.

I decided to create a Father’s Day card using the tie stamp and framelit.

I decided to keep most of the ties neutral and then one was a pop of color.  It’s Coastal Cabana of course.  I love that color.  I stamped the greeting Celebrate from the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set in Chocolate Chip ink.

Confession time…  When Early Espresso  was added to our product line I pushed Chocolate Chip to the side.  When I was stamping the Celebrate I squealed out loud.  WOWSA, I missed that color.  It was perfect for this card and I need to use it more often.  I did add a little stitching and the scatter from Gorgeous Grunge to the top left.

JUST love the way it turned out.

  1. I love this card! Way to go by using a baby set and a bday set to make a father’s day card!! I know what you mean about chocolate chip vs EE. But it looks great here. Fun and cool card. Poor Alexis! Glad Brandon is feeling better. Hopefully you and Russ won’t catch it!! Have a great week!

  2. Neat card Kim. The stitching at top left….do you have a dedicated craft sewing machine or just use a regular sewing machine?

  3. Well… I have two machines. I have a small Janome I bought from Hancock Fabrics about 3 years ago that I love for paper crafts. Then I have a bigger machine that sometimes sees fabric. My Janome was slipping on the stitches so I went to using my regular machine which is a Singer. 🙂
