Sunshine- Something I Enjoy!

Sunshine- Something I Enjoy!

Sunshine, it’s one of my little things I enjoy.

In fact today I finally spent a few hours in my pool in between working.  I’ve only been able to relax in the pool 3 times this year and the opportunity was today with the sun shining bright.

You would think working from home I would have the pool at my disposal more often.  However I let many other things come between me getting in the pool- laundry, Facebook, work…and sometimes I am just LAZY.  You get it, right?

Creating Sunshine

Sometimes my laziness causes me to create my own sunshine in my stamp room.  I love this kind of sunshine too.

Each year Stampin’ Up! puts together a card swap for the incentive trips.  As usual I procrastinate until the last minute which causes a bit of panic to set in 3 days prior to leaving on the trip.

This year I think I beat all previous years in procrastinating until the bitter end to get my card swaps done.

It’s a good thing I work well under pressure because although my card swap is quick and simple, I ended up loving it.

Incentive Trip Card Swap

The greetings in the new Layering Love stamp set described how I felt about our trip.  It’s all about the little things.

Layering Love stamp set coordinates perfectly with our new Layering Square, Circle, Oval and Heart Framelits.  Each of the greetings can fit into one or more of the framelits.

I chose to use the Layering Square Framelits for my card below.

Sunshine, Layering Love, Stampin' Up!

Adding the Sunshine!

While the greeting from the Layering Love stamp set would have been fine alone, I thought it would be fun to add the word sunshine from the Crazy About You stamp set.  This set has many words to work with and the font reminds me of a typewriter.  You can see this set on Page 70 of the new Idea Book & Catalog.  I embossed the word sunshine using White Embossing Powder.  This made the greeting really stand out.

To add more sunshine I stamped the sun using Daffodil Delight ink from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set.

To keep the elements together I stapled them together and then attached the Whisper White square to the scallop square using dimensionals.

The Designer paper is from the Pop of Pink collection.

Final Touch

I love adding embellishments to a card.  It’s an inexpensive way to make a card look finished.  The final touch for this card was the Bermuda Bay Thick Bakers Twine.

Notice that the twine was pulled a part so it wasn’t too thick and then I simply coiled it up and attached to the greeting using a staple.

Quick Tip Tuesday- A Nice Cuppa

Quick Tip Tuesday

Recently I created a few swaps using the A Nice Cuppa stamp set.

When I’m creating swaps I need the creative process to be fast or else I have the case of the “I’m bored” syndrome that comes on quickly.

When I was creating this project I fell in love with the lemon wedge. I wanted to be able to place the lemon wedge onto the cup, but the thought of cutting these out was daunting.

Then, I had a moment where my brain was working hard and this little Tuesday Tip was born…

Quick Tip Tuesday, A Nice Cuppa, Stampin' Up!

Use the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch to cut your lemon wedge.  Once it’s punched then you can cut straight across the edge for a nice easy cut. BAM! The creative process doesn’t get stuck on the fussy cutting.

Here is the card I created using this quick tip.

Quick Tip Tuesday, A Nice Cuppa, Stampin' Up!

This bright and cheerful card is bound to add a bit of cheer to someones day, don’t you think?

Quick Tip Tuesday, A Nice Cuppa, Stampin' Up! While this card has lots of fun layers the creative process is made easy with the quick tip and the framelits for the tea cup.

Tips & Tricks

  • Tea Lace Doilies are perfect to embellish a project using this stamp set.  You can see in the photo I have used a doily twice.  One is large in the background, the other is a small piece tucked under the ribbon for added texture for the card.
  • Easily grab ribbons together and staple to a piece of your card front to keep the ribbons from moving around.

This tea set lends itself to be a big seller because of the versatility.  Between Tea and Coffee, I think I can cover myself for a long time with this set and lots of fun gift ideas.

SAVE MONEY! This stamp set can be purchased as a bundle which means you SAVE money.  15% savings when you purchase the bundle.  That’s a GREAT deal.

Stampin' Up!, Be Inspired

This first card was created by my friend Amy Celona.  I love the Gorgeous Grunge paired with the Creative Elements stamp set.  Plus the colors are just beautiful.

Stampin' Up!, Be Inspired

This beautiful card was created by Rosemarrie Gonzalez. The Giggle Greetings stamp set is sure to make someone giggle with the quirky greetings.  I love the Linen Thread on the little clip and paired with the Gingham Garden DSP was perfect.  It looks like the image sits on a tablecloth.

Stampin' Up!, Be Inspired

I love this card Dawn Bourgette created using one of my favorite designer papers- Eastern Elegance.  I love how she layered all the elements and stamped on the Cotton Ribbon.  The elements are pefectly placed for a shabby chic look.

Stampin' Up!, Be Inspired

I believe this card was made from my friend Tiffany Bauer. ???  Washi Tape and the Flower Shop stamp set.  Oh I love his flower set. I'm not a big flower fan but I love this card because it coordinates with the Pansy Punch and makes stamping fast and fun.  NO cutting.  I love how bright and cheerful this card is.   The last detail on this card is what I just fell in love with… the random rhinestones. BEE-utiful!

Stampin' Up!, Be Inspired

Vicki Wu created this beauty with this FANTASTIC stamp set Beautifully Baroque.  She also used my favorite Designer Paper Eastern Elegance.  This card just jumps at me with it's elegance.

Stampin' Up!, Be Inspired

Lastly, Tracy Geisz made this card above.  Gorgeous watercoloring and I loved the colors she used.  She used the Secret Garden stamp set and this card is just stunning.  The beauty of this stamp set is the matching framelit (Secret Garden) that coordinates with it.

Thank you to these ladies for swapping with me.  They are just beautiful! Be inspired & create.  I'd love to hear what you think about these cards too.

Today  the big truck is loading all of our precious cargo.  We are almost ready to exit Virginia and head home to Flordia.

Today was a rough day of goodbyes.  It's the hardest part of moving.  The hardest today was seeing Alexis say goodbye to her besties.  She handled it WAY better than I did.

We have also been a little emotional today over one of our beloved pets.  My sweet kitty Shelby has not been well for awhile. We sat the kids down and talked about our options.  Shelby is 16 and her quality of life just isn't what it use to be.  We will take her to the vet to be put down today.  Not what we needed during this move, but I know she would not make the drive. Our hearts are broken as a part of our family leaves us.

Convention Swaps & Inspiration

I'm super excited to share my Convention Swaps with you!!  You will be so inspired by these ideas. Convention Swaps are always the highlight of convention for me.

After coming home from a week of crazy fun from convention typically I have a few lazy days of getting my energy back when I come home.  That is not the case this time.  However, I did make time to check out all of my convention swaps.

I started tearing down my stamp studio over the last few days as well as doing some behind the scenes work that I will be sharing soon.

Last night I literally fell into my bed and was OUT cold by 1030pm.  I think the excitement of this move also plays a roll into my exhaustion too.  You know when your mind does NOT shut off and it keeps going and going like the energizer bunny?? That's ME!

After a good night sleep I feel rested and ready to tackle the day again.

Since my favorites are getting packed my paper crafting has come to a halt for a few weeks.  I do have amazing swaps I want to share with you during that time and of course a few Digital scrapbooking pages will be in order to capture this cray cray time.

First, I have a few things to take care of….

I recently opened my Customer Appreciation "Adventure Awaits"  site for any customer that ordered Online from April- June 2013, Online Club Participants or has purchased an Online Class.  This site has projects and videos just for my online customers- a site that I can show my appreciation for choosing me as their Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  They also earned double points on their Rewards Card for their online orders for a week.  Today I announced the winner on the Adventure Awaits site.  VERY exciting.

I can't wait to share the next Customer Appreciation- Adventure Awaits in October 2013.  Click HERE to learn more about this special program I offer.

Next- I will be announcing new Online Digital Clubs opening up.  Make sure to sign up for my e-mail list in the top left corner of my site so you keep informed of new Online Classes & Clubs I will be offering.  I'm super excited about  the new clubs & classes I'll be offering.  It will be FRESH & NEW!

Last, INSPIRATION!  Here are a few convention swaps and my team of talented ladies and friends.

Convention Swaps, Stampin' Up!

Convention Swaps, Stampin' Up!

I love Shabby and this card uses one of my favorite wheels Shop Around #129587.  My bestie Debbie Keene created this card and I love how she used the wheel as the focal point of this card.  This wheel is fantastic for any paper crafting projects.

Convention Swaps, Stampin' Up! Convention Swaps, Stampin' Up! My downline and friend Charlotte Hollingsworth created this card.  The snowman (adorbs) was created using the new Snow Day stamp set (#131895) available on August 1st from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I love this set because you can create your own snowman with the images in this set.  SUPER cute. I love the Whisper White on the Coastal Cabana cardstock.

Convention Swaps, Stampin' Up! Convention Swaps, Stampin' Up! Our new Holiday catalog has amazing FALL stamp sets that will knock your socks off.  This card was created by my bestie Christie Schroeger.  I love the colors she used for this card.  I'm also truly gratelful for her friendship.  Isn't that a GREAT greeting.  She used the stamp set Truly Grateful (#131733) for this card.  The addition of our new Burlap ribbon (#132140) was perfection for this card.  I have another project that she made I'll be showing soon.  It's AWESOME. Love how she colored the vintage button as well.

Time for me to get back to packing.  Busy day ahead.  I will have MANY more convention swaps to share.

Have a FANTASTIC day and make something pretty.
