Camping Anyone?

Camping Anyone?

Camping is not a part of my vocabulary, ever.

Now if camping includes a 3 star hotel, or maybe a big comfy camper… I’m in.

Always an Adventure

Recently I was in San Diego with my daughter for a big gymnastics camp.

Overall the trip was amazing although we did have one little blip during our trip- unexpected camping.

Our hotel wasn’t anything 5 star but comfortable and perfect for a short stay.  That was until the power went out.

At first, I was okay with it.  I was sure it would come back soon.

12 hours later… around 530 AM…. the power came back on.

I could have easily left and found another hotel, but just a week prior Alexis and I had embarked on a bible study together.

Our bible study challenged us to get out of our comfort zones.  Sleep on the floor… take a cold shower.

Alexis and I both had not taken part of the challenge, and kept in our comfort zones.  When the power went out and didn’t come back on before we needed to go to bed, Alexis started to have a melt down.  It was hot.  There was no hot water for her to shower.

As tears flowed, I leaned over to my girl and had her think of all the things God was teaching us in this moment.

We still had a comfortable bed and a roof protecting us.  This was our form of camping.

Sometimes we have to step outside of our comfort zones and it’s not always easy, right?

Adventure Awaits

Camping, Stampin' Up!, Always an Adventure

In honor of Alexis and that we survived our unexpected camping trip, this card is for her.

I’m using the Always an Adventure stamp set that is SO adorable.  This set is perfect for cards but think BIG… Project Life would be a perfect fit for this stamp set too.

Tips & Tricks

  • The greeting for this card was stamped using the Places You’ll Go stamp set #141741.
  • The Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack was a perfect choice for the background of this card.  This paper stack has 48 sheets of 12 double sided designs.  This is also a fantastic paper stack to use for Project Life.  Awesome combo.

Okay, I am not a fan of this stamp set AND I like your card BUT your blog post was probably one of the best. We ALL need to be reminded about stepping out of our comfort zone. Thanks for sharing your moment with your daughter.

  3. Thanks for sharing that sweet story. God gives us those trials in life to make us stronger. Sometimes the closer you are to God, the more you seem to get. But then the blessings always seem to come soon after. And you are truly blessed my friend. Love ya??
