Christmas Theme-TGIF Challenge

Christmas Theme-TGIF Challenge

TGIF, Challenges, Stampin' Up!

Happy Friday! It’s time for a Christmas theme challenge.  Well, actually I’ve screwed it up a bit so keep reading to find out the real challenge!

This might be the first time I tell you that I’m not happy to see Friday come as my bestie hops on a plane headed back to Colorado on Saturday.

I’ve thought of many ways I could get her to stay but I am sure she is ready to get back to the daily grind of her life.  Then again… maybe not.  We’ve had so much fun creating together.

Laughing.

Crying.

Joy.

That’s how it always goes when she is in my home.  All of us enjoy her.  The kids start laughing across the house when they hear her giggle because she has that laugh thats contagious.  You start laughing when you don’t even know why you are laughing.

I’m sure you can think of someone that brings you just as much joy.  I think these are the times that we need to bottle up all the joy and savor the days.  On a blue day I can probably start laughing when I think about her giggle.

Today’s card was completely inspired by our antique junking on Tuesday this past week.  We found the cutest little metal glamper’s and bought them all at one shop.  At the time we had no idea what we would do with them but knew they would be needed somehow.  This is how I justify things to Russ.  “Honey, I needed this.  Really!”

The man selling the little cars was “slashing” prices before our eyes and like a typical female shopper the slashing prices “GOT ME!”  I’m pretty sure Cathy bought way more than me but I’ll let that slide…

Oh- The Christmas Theme

The card should have been interpreted a bit different.  I think I had a blonde moment.  The theme this week for our TGIF challenge is White Christmas.  I failed miserably.  I thought it was only Christmas… Pretend you see MANY snowflakes falling and LOTS of white.  <grin>

The funny part, I used the White Christmas stamp set to complete this card.  <score!>

Look how sweet that little Glamper looks with the tree on it.  I’m in love.

Tips & Tricks-

I watercolored the glamper using Watercolor Paper and my Aquapainter using Blushing Bride and Watermelon Wonder ink.

The “rough” images beneath the glamper are images from a new stamp set called Timeless Textures.  It’s AMAZING and you will love it.  Its a set that can be used on almost every project.

The Gold Foil banner at the top of the card was created using the Washi Label and then cutting that in half.
