We have the Fevah!

I received that call today from the nurses office that I always dread.  Alexis was still complaining of a headache and running a fever of 102.5! WHAT? She was completely fine this morning! I got to the school in 5 minutes and couldn't believe what I was seeing.  That poor girl looked pitiful.  She was crying.  A little scared because she felt so bad.  I scooped her up and got her comfy at home. This all happened around 2pm.  About an hour and a half later I picked up Brandon from the bus stop.  I could tell from the moment his little feet hit the pavement he was not doing well.  Same thing…. Headache.  I touched him and he was on fire.  Temp=103.5! WOW! He was crying, too.  When I asked him why the tears he said he was upset that he wouldn't get the perfect attendance award.  I didn't have the heart to tell him he would NOT be receiving this award anyways. Both my little gems will be going on a cruise to Alaska with MOMMY this year.  My kids have no idea yet. Looks like I may have to let the cat out of the bag soon.

So tonight I had to put my nurse hat on!  Did you know that I was a nurse? Yes, I was a Registered Nurse for many years.  I was one of those nurses who became burned out and stressed out.  I needed something fun and direct sales was a great fit for me and better yet… Stampin' Up! has been the PERFECT fit! If you have ever considered becoming a demonstrator now is the best time! Sale-a-Bration is a great time to join Stampin' Up! This year the deal is even sweeter.  You can check out  the details HERE and don't hesitate to ask questions. I would love to have you be a part of my AMAZING team.

Since we have the Fevah… I thought it would be best to make a card that screams healthy!  Tonight's card has two parts.

The first card is a simple and clean card that has no sponging and few embellishments.  This is a card you can make and mass produce in no time.

Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Kimberly Van Diepen, Northern Virginia

This card uses the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper, Word Play stamp set and lastly the Ornate Blossom stamp set. The Ornate Blossom is also one of the stamps you can receive for FREE for every $50 you spend in products during Sale-a-Bration.  Great set.

Part Two:

I added just a few embellishments to the same card to give it a little more flare. It's amazing what ribbon can do!

Indpendent Stampin Up! Demonstrator Kimberly Van Diepen Northern Virginia

With just a little Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon, Vintage Brads and shimmer mist you have another elegant, but simple card.

Make sure you check our my Online Store filled with lots of great products and tools you won't want to miss!

XOXOXO-Time for another Fevah check!

  1. It's so weird that I live in NY and the nurse called me on Tuesday to come pick up my daughter because she had a headache and a 102 fever….Her headache has gone away and now she has the stomach thing….not good!
I hope your kids feel better soon!

  2. you also flipped the DSP on the 2nd card!  LOL   Both are nice …. sorry the kids are sick – it's been gong around and hanging on in the kids …. poor things.  I think the award will pale in comparison to a trip to Alaska!

  3. Both cards are wonderful but of course the glitzed up one is the best…!   So sorry to hear about your kids….hope they start feeling much better very soon!

  4. Kim,  I just needed to tell you that I LOVE the Fevah card!  Interesting to know too that you were a nurse.   Hope the kids are feeling better soon!  You might want to let the cat out of the bag, might be a great surprise and you could make a Perfect Attendance Banner from MOM.   Hugs to YOU!

  5. Sorry to hear about the kiddos.  Hope they feel better soon.
I also wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your blog.  I love it so much that I am awarding you the Stylish Blogger Award. Please visit my blog for information on posting this award to your blog.  Thanks for the inspiration you give to all of us!

  6. Hmmm…my 6-year-old had the fever last Thursday. Took her in only to find out she had strep and an ear infection (what? I thought we were done with those after the toddler years!). Hope everyone is better soon! Love the cards, as usual. (-=

  7. Hi Kimberly,  Love your bright sunny cards! I hope your sweet children feel better soon. To tell you the truth I've always hated that perfect attendance award, especially having a child with immunodeficiency. Too many kids would come to school sick just to get that piece of paper, so thank you for doing what's best for your kids and everyone else's! I hope everyone is better for the weekend!  🙂

  8. Sure hope the children get over this soon!  Your cards are both gorgeous!  Now I know what to do with my left over Gala DSP!  TFS!

  9. both cards…*yummy*; thanks for your talent, as I love whatever you do…{I was an OR nurse for 31 yr….started early & had to take early retirement…streessssful in nursing}

  10. Dearest friend–

So sorry to hear that the sweet babies are sick!  No fun at all.  Trust that all will be well soon and that mommy doesn't get it.  🙂  Have been thinking of you with some of the changes that will be coming into your household soon.  I have the utmost respect for our service people and truly appreciate all that they do for us.

    Sending hugs to you!

  11. Kimberly, I'm so sorry your sweet babies are ill.  I hope they recoup soon.  You know that special NEWS will definitely lift their spirits!  BTW – of course both cards are beauties!  Also I have to respond soon to a previous post – so funny, will soon…Barb
