Scrapbook Crop Bound

Scrapbook Crop Bound

Oh boy! Oh boy! I’m headed for a scrapbook crop weekend and I couldn’t be more excited.

Why, you might ask?

I get to meet new friends!  I have found from past experience a crop is filled with friendship.  It’s always great to be in the company of like minded people and this is definitely the place.

My bags are packed to the gills.  I’m teaching 3 classes this weekend and doing a make n take at another crop.  How exciting????

The best part about these crops is they are on the gulf coast.  You can look out and see the beautiful white sandy beaches.

Scrapbooking (or crafting) + beach = Bliss!

Before I head out I wanted to share a project.  I truly have been on a creative high the last few weeks.  Feels so good.  I know God has His hands on the steering wheel of the direction I’m heading.  I’m starting to step out into new things which can be scary at times but exhilarating all the same.

Ray of Sunshine stamp set, Stampin' Up!
Sitting on my desk I have a basket of “dud” materials.  Basically it’s stamped images or die cut things that didn’t make a cut on a card but can be used at a later time.  This card was created from the duds.  Just a piece of this and that t
hrown together.

A stamp set I have not used enough is Ray of Sunshine. Take a look at this stamp set.  It’s a GREAT piece.  I love the greetings as well as the images.  I paired this stamp set with the Kinda Eclectic set which was perfection for me.  I love the sunburst and then adding the face for the sun in Gold Embossing powder was icing on the cake.

Ray of Sunshine stamp set, Stampin' Up!
Since I used the Hello thinlit from the Hello You Thinlits Dies, I decided to just use a piece of the sentiment from an image in Ray of Sunshine.

Before I leave…. a couple reminders…..

Kinda Eclectic, Banner, Stampin' Up!

One of the things I love to decorate in my home is a little place in my foyer that I change up with the seasons.  This little space is very vintage and a happy place for me.  The only problem is there  not much sunlight that comes in my foyer so taking a picture of it just STINKS.

Bare with the picture of the entire banner.  It was not easy to get a great shot of the entire thing.

This was all created using the Canvas Creations and Banner Framelits.  The Banner Framelits are PERFECT for creating banners.  I love the size and although there are lots of little details, it doesn’t take long to create this.

Kinda Eclectic, Banner, Stampin' Up!

Once the Banner was created  you can see that I used the Typeset Designer Paper on each banner piece.  Just cut to the inside of the banner and before the V at the bottom.  Then it was just a matter of layering each piece with embellishments.

As for embellishments, that’s the fun and easy part.  You just add your favorites.  You will see lace, burlap, lots of butterflies on mine.

Kinda Eclectic, Banner, Stampin' Up!

I used all types of ribbon on my banner in the same color scheme to add more texture to the banner.

Kinda Eclectic, Banner, Stampin' Up!

To keep the banner together I used our new Venetian Crochet Trim and sewed it all across the top of the banner leaving enough so that I could use the end pieces to hang.

You can see all the products I used at the bottom of this post.

Kinda Eclectic | Stampin’ Up!

Happy Wednesday.  Today is another fun day to share another display from Convention.  Each time I created with the Kinda Eclectic stamp set I think I yelled out a big squeal.

Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set, Stampin' Up!

Create with Me:

  • Start with your cardbase of Whisper White 4 1/4 x 11 and let’s tackle a few tags using this fun stamp set.
  • The tags were created using the Moonlight DSP and cutting each pattern to fit the card with a slight angle.
  • Using Hello Honey ink, stamp your starburst image and greeting in Blackberry Bliss on the grid pattern.
  • Using a piece of scrap Whisper White stamp the butterflies using Smoky Slate and flowers using Hello Honey Ink.
  • Punch your butterflies and layer.
  • Fussy cut your flowers using your snips.
  • Stamp the dotted word image onto Whisper White cardstock using Smoky Slate ink.  Create a banner of this piece and wrap around the Grid pattern paper.
  • Using Dotted Scallop Punch, punch a piece of Basic Gray cardstock and Hello Honey cardstock and layer the scallops at the bottom of each patterned paper piece using Snail.
  • Gently tuck your flowers behind the banner.
  • Layer a 1/2 piece of a doily under the Hexagon Pattern paper as shown in the photo.
  • Trim both pattern paper pieces at the top to create a tag.
  • Punch a small circle from Hello Honey and place at the top of the tag. Punch a hole and tread Whisper White bakers twine and tie in a bow.
  • Adhere to the card base as shown in photo.
  • Attach butterflies to the focal tag using dimensionals and add a Rhinestone.
  • Add a fun clip as shown in photo.

Convention Displays | Stampin’ Up!

Well, I quickly found out that blogging while I’m at convention is just not happening.  I know many can do it but let me tell you… I talk to much.  There ya have it.

I hope you were able to follow along on my Facebook Fan page because I did update that OFTEN with gorgeous samples from convention.

This was my 10th convention and I think the best EVER! I was OVER THE MOON excited when they announced my name for the Top 100 demonstrators in the US.  Oh my word.  This means I will be able to attend the prestigious Founders Circle this September.  Yippie!!! This is my 7th year earning it.  Blessed is the word that comes to my mind.  I truly love what I do and I love Stampin’ Up!

Founders Circle 2014

I’m super excited to share my Display Stamper Projects with you over the next few weeks.  Might even see a few projects per day.  WOWSA.

The projects will be using Kinda Eclectic, Amazing Birthday and a new stamp set called Seasonally Scattered that will be available in the upcoming Mini Catalog.  (PS- I have seen the new catalog and have a few products on hand… OH MY STAMPIN’ WORD! Love!)

Let’s get started!

At first glance you might say WHOA.  That’s not easy.  Oh but WAIT!  It is.

You will start out with a Crumb Cake card base and stamp your images.  Then stamp another Crumb Cake 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece with random images.  Run that piece along with a piece of Wax Paper through your Hexagon Framelit.  That is what I used over the main card base.

Kinda Eclectic stamp set, Display Stamper, Stampin' Up!

You can see that not all of the Hexagon’s were punched out as well.  By adding a simple doily at the bottom with a tiny dotted scallop punch underneath the banner it made it more delicate.

If you look closely I added the Gold Bakers Twine but stripped the Gold thread from the Twine.  I also threaded a few sequins through the thread.  This is very simple to do using a needle.

You can see ALL supplies used for this card at the bottom of this post.

Over all, this was one of my fav’s and you will hear that about 23 more times as I show all of them.  I will also be sharing a few swaps and displays this week.  Here are a FEW samples.

Holy Moly!  11 days of sickness in my house.  Yes ELEVEN!  Brandon was kind enough to pass along his virus to Alexis and she has been a statue on the couch for 6 days.  Same thing as Brandon with HIGH fever, chills, congestion, sore throat.  It’s the craziest virus I’ve seen.

In between taking care of these sickies I’ve been working on a list of things that have been waiting for me to get done.  Let’s just say my customers are the most patient people on earth.  I’ve been licking, sealing and getting reward cards ready to hit the mail.  Lots of catalogs went in the mail too.  It’s really been an exciting week despite the germs.

I’ve also been working late nights on my samples for Convention.  WHOA.  Loving this creative time.  I cannot wait to share these with you.  Just sayin’!

Let me announce the winner of the BLOG Candy FIRST!!

Let me share a few fun projects with you today!
Emboss Resist, Work of Art stamp set

I love this fun little card using the Emboss Resist Technique.

I embossed first using the Everything Eleanor stamp set and White Embossing powder.

I used a Washi Tape across the Watercolor paper and then used my Aqua Painter and colored the paper over the embossed area.  I love the Work of Art stamp set.  If you need a stamp set to create backgrounds, it’s PERFECT!

These are the supplies I used:

Kinda Eclectic stamp set, Ray of Sunshine stamp set
Sometimes there are stamp sets that just make me squeal with delight.  The Ray of Sunshine and Kinda Eclectic stamp sets do JUST that.
I started this card with the stencils available on page 203 in the catalog.  They are from the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit and this carried over from the Occasions Mini.
Using the circle stencil and a sponge dauber I just sponged a random amount of dots.

The new ribbons in the catalog are  DELISH!  Look at how gorgeous that lace is.  A few sequins added to and this card was a quick one even with a dab of sewing.
Time for me to get back to work.  It’s a great day to stamp.  Lots to create.
I hope you have a GREAT weekend.
