Project Life: What Else Can I Do?

Project Life: What Else Can I Do?

Oh goodness.  I’m getting addicted to this little Project Life thing.  There are so many great things that you can do with these Project Life cards.

There is a problem though… they are so pretty I want to frame them.  Sigh!

Instead I got a little creative and used my Silhouette Cameo and cut the sun from an MDS SVG file.  I just love it.

Now it’s time to put this card together using my Project Life Everyday Adventures from Stampin’ Up!

Make Creative Cards

The card is layered onto a Whisper White cardstock base and then I layered a few of the cards.  Super simple and a FAST card.

I stamped the Life is Good greeting using the Project Life Remember This photopolymer stamp set.

I stitched a small piece of the Bermuda Bay cardstock texture embossed with the Arrow embossing folder and also added a piece of the White Filter Paper under it.  Love how this looked on the card.

 What Else Can I do?

Here is where you can Step it Up a Notch.  Our new Espresso 6 x 8 Project Life Album is amazing.  The best part is that you can embellish to YOUR desire.  Oh my word.  Isn’t that fantastic???

I had a ball creating a fun album cover on mine.  The possibilities are endless with this.

Do You Create On the Go?

If you are crazy busy like me I have a solution for how to CREATE on the GO!

I don’t know about you but it’s RARE that I don’t have some type of creative “thing” in my hand.  I love to create and if I can find something to create when I’m on the go I am a happy camper.

There is ONE problem!

I’m not that organized and I have a tendency to procrastinate getting something together to take with me when I’m on the GO.

I do have a solution!  It’s pretty simple and still gives me the ability to create like I love.

Get Digital, My Digital Studio

My Digital Studio!  All I need is my computer and I’m out the door and have the ability to create quickly.

Create a Desktop Background with MDS!

Create a Desktop Background with MDS!

I’m so excited to share with you how to create a desktop background using My Digital Studio.  Honestly, most of the time I am using stock photos to look at a pretty seen that Apple provides me.  I guess you could call me boring.

I wanted to change my boring self! The reality is it’s SO easy to make a desktop background using My Digital Studio.

Create a Desktop Background with MDS, My Digital Studio, Stampin' Up!

For purposes to show you on my website the image below was sized down to fit.

For my 15″ Macbook Pro I started a new project and made it a custom size  in pixels of 1440 x 900.  Depending on the specs of your monitor your’s could be different.  Watch the video below to learn how to find the correct size of your display monitor.  The video shows you how to do this on a Mac.

If you are a PC designer, you will want to follow the path below to see your sizing needs:

Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > Screen Resolution

One FUN thing to note is you should have an update on your My Digital Studio software.  I’m super excited about this because the NEW In Colors are there as well as a new Facebook Cover Photo Template.  Make sure to check them both out.

Here is the video showing you how I created my desktop background.

My Digital Studio-Embellishing

My Digital Studio-Embellishing

Happy Monday and Happy Memorial Day.  Today I’m remembering those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.  We’ve lost a few friends during Russ’ career in the Navy.  They were great guys with great families.  Today, we remember them.

This weekend I spent time catching up on my house.  Russ and I have been discussing getting a housekeeper to help us keep things a bit more tidy than what I can keep up with.  Let’s face it, with two kids that is nearly impossible sometimes.  The kids have been very helpful in the house but they can only do so much.

Have a fantastic Monday and enjoy Memorial Day.  Remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice.  THAT is what today is about.

After the two weeks of catching up on work our suitcases had not even been unpacked and the master bedroom looked like a bomb went off in it.  In the 11 hours I spent cleaning I didn’t even clean the entire house.  UGH.  The MAJOR stuff was cleaned and I’m proud to report we are unpacked.  The biggest accomplishment is laundry.  It’s almost caught up.  YIPPIE!

Finally after all that was done I was able to sit and play with My Digital Studio.  I’ve neglected it for a bit.  A bit unusual for me but I’ve been so engulfed with paper craft ideas that I had to create while they were FRESH in the brain.

Today I’m challenging our Simply My Digital Studio Challenge group with embellishing their layouts.  Let me share…

My Digital Studio Embellishing, Stampin' Up!

With My Digital Studio there are fantastic downloads with embellishments ready to be used on your layouts.  On my layout above I went to town with the embellishments.  If I found an embellishment that didn’t coordinate  but I still wanted to use it, I just changed the colors to make it so it would work.

I encourage you to jump into your My Digital Studio and see what great embellishments you can dig through. Make sure to have the New Project Life Digital Download in your arsenal of great downloads.  It’s gong to be one that you will use over and over again.

Be a part of our great Challenge Group on Facebook by joining HERE.  Over 1500 members sharing and inspiring every day.  It’s pretty darn amazing.  Make sure to check out Heather’s layout as well today.

Be Inspired with Blendabilities!

Be Inspired with Blendabilities

It’s Monday and I’m excited to get CREATIVE!! I have a great line up of creativity this week that I can’t wait to show you.

Blendabilities, Stampin' Up!, Bloom with Hope

When I opened the new catalog I was in awe with the new images.  I instantly turned to the Hostess sets in the back of the catalog.  There was a quiet squeal when I was able to see them.  This year I want ALL of the hostess sets. Each of them have great images.

You’ve known for awhile that I’ve never been a big floral stamper but I loved how this set has a sketched look with the flowers and stems.

Using our new Blendabilities makes coloring a whole new world.  The alcohol ink markers are easy to learn and your coloring becomes a master piece.

I’ll keep you posted when these amazing markers will be available to customers.  Currently they are only available to demonstrators.  <Learn how you can become a demonstrator and order your own Blendabilities HERE>

Blendabilities, Stampin' Up!, Bloom with Hope

I used the Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blendabilities starting with the lightest shade and working in the medium and darker shades next.  When using these markers I colored the entire image with the lightest marker first.  Then I gently blended the medium shade along the outside petals and blended over these darker shades with the lighter marker again.

Blendabilities, Stampin' Up!, Bloom with Hope

I did the same thing with the leaves image by starting with the lighter color and working in the darks gently.  Once the images were completed I cut the flower image out and popped it up using dimensionals towards the bottom of the card.

Tip: Remember to use Memento Black ink when stamping images to color with your Blendabilities.  This makes sure there is NO bleeding of the inks.  I have a huge crush on Memento Ink.  It’s my new favorite go to ink pad for Black.

All the products used on this card can be found below.  The Bloom with Hope stamp set will be available on June 2nd.

Let’s add to your creativity today and get digital.  Monday’s are always my digital days and I have a fun sketch to get your digital creativity flowing.  Make sure to join our Simply My Digital Studio Challenge Group on Facebook.  Over 1500 members sharing an abundant of digital creative art.
