Creative Explosion- Stampin’ Up!

Creative Explosion- Stampin’ Up!

Oh boy! There has been a creative explosion in my studio!   It’s been awhile since I last posted.  I was afraid I wouldn’t know how the buttons worked since my blog updated a few times since the last entry.

My intention was not to take a break in the blog world however it happened because I am EXCEPTIONAL at overloading my schedule and forget that I have children who need me to taxi them ALL the time.

The good news is I might have some control over my life again. The things I overloaded my schedule with are/were good for my soul.  I started teaching a bible study at my church and love love love it.  It’s taken up a bit more time than I had imagined but again my heart is happy.

I could bore you with all the other crazy news but I don’t think it’s necessary.  The quick update is everyone is alive.  Sometimes these people in my house get a little out of hand.  Not naming names… just saying.  Russ continues to get stronger.  He’s hitting a few road blocks in his therapy.  Very frustrating.  We continue to encourage and know that God will provide.

The last two weeks have been the busiest and the BEST.

There is something to be said about getting with your girlfriends and crafting together.  My girlfriend Cathy traveled here to Pensacola and then we took off for Orlando for Stampin’ Up!’s Leadership conference.  There we met with our other two bestie’s Terri and Deb.  Oh what a dream vacay that was.  4 girls in a condo crafting like a bunch of school girls.

After Leadership Cathy and I came back to Pensacola and she stayed another week with me.  We crafted EVERY single night until at least 2 AM.  Overall we created 52 projects that we couldn’t be more proud of.  Some of our projects were a collaborative effort and some we came up with on our own and always made doubles so we each had one.  Let’s just say Cathy’s suitcase is HEAVY.

First I want to share one of our favorite projects that we collaborated on.

Coffee Anyone?

You know I’m a complete coffee lover and so is Cathy.  We had to play with this set. It’s been awhile.
Perfect Blend, Stampin' Up!
We were pretty excited about this card because of the fun texture we added.  We used the Stampin’ Up! Decorative Mask Hearts & Stars and added Modeling Paste over the mask.  This is how we created the hearts on the Kraft cardstock.  Once the modeling paste dried (which is pretty quick) we used a very fine paint brush (Sponge Dauber would work too) to add Gold Encore Ink to a few of the hearts.

Perfect Blend, Stampin' Up!

Next was just adding the layers we wanted to add a little curb appeal to the card.  Things such as Fancy Foil Gold Designer Vellum – delicious, don’t you think? It’s just a simple banner underneath the coffee cup but love how the hearts blend right in.

We added the words “Coffee” using my new favorite tool- the Alphabet Rotary stamp.  I’ve had this little gem for a long time but hated using it until I had seen it in action at Leadership.  Now I’m hooked.

Blendabilities were used to color the coffee cup using Pink Pirouette.  I love the soft look of this pink.

The extra zing for this card used the stamp set You Plus Me.  This set has 2 little arrows that are adorable.  We highlighted one of them to show up through one of the hearts.  SO fun.

You can see all the supplies for this card below.

I have MUCH more to share so stay tuned.

Also, a new Stamps in the Mail is coming.  It’s ready to go just need to fine tune the details.

Tomorrow I am going to share FUN Valentines project. You might SQUEAL!!!

Howdy Ya’ll- Yee Haw Stamp Set

Howdy Ya’ll- Yee Haw Stamp Set

Good Tuesday morning.  Lots of great things to share and taking a day off from holiday cards.  Hope you don’t mind.  As much as I love this season and as much as I love creating projects with holiday sets, sometimes I need a breather in between.

I thought I would share a fun card today using the Yee Haw stamp set. I love this set mainly because of the “Southern” twang I hear when saying the greetings.  It’s rare you see the word Ya’LL or Y’all in a stamp set.  Do you hear that Ya’ll??

Let me share my Rootin’ Tootin’ card…

Yee-Haw stamp set, Stampin' Up!, Birthday
I used Blendabilities on this card to color the Sheriff’s badge. Love how it stands out.
Yee-Haw stamp set, Stampin' Up!, Birthday

Stampin’ Tips:
I stamped the Sheriff’s badge twice.  I colored one with Crumb Cake Blendabilities and the second image was used to layer the colored Badge.  I wanted the banner in the center to stand out.

To create the polka dots I used the Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks.  Using a sponge dauber and Crumb Cake ink I gently sponged over the Whisper White cardstock.  Once sponged I stamped the stars from the Yee-Haw stamp set in Early Espresso ink.

I’m excited to give this cowgirl birthday card to someone.  It’s still frilly, but so fun.

Did You Miss These?

Did You Miss These?

While I may not have been here sharing on the blog, I was stamping during all the craziness.  Hopefully you didn’t miss these as I may have posted them on my Facebook Fan Page.

At any rate, I want to share them here.

Love this Christmas Bauble stamp set.  Easy to color and so many options.

Christmas Bauble, Christmas, Stampin' Up!

I colored this image using Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Blendabilities.  I love the simplicity of this card and the “Be Merry” at the bottom.

Christmas Bauble, Christmas, Stampin' Up! One of my favorites about the Gold Bakers Twine is unraveling so the Gold twine stands out more.

This next card uses a product on the Clearance Rack.  I love love these expression thinlits.  I wish they were not retired…

Expression Thinlits, Stampin' Up! Fall

For All Things, Stampin' Up!, Fall

My club created this card together.  I love the little details and fun products on this card.

Notice the glitter on the Wooden Autumn Elements? Also the Washi Tape behind the Thankful?

I’m finding that I don’t use my Washi Tape NEARLY like I should.  UGH.  I have an entire basket full, easily accessed, little used.  Must change that.

Hopefully these cards inspire you to create something beautiful today.  I’m working on a few things in the office today.  One is my Newsletter…. and a special Christmas Newsletter for you too.   I am SO behind on this, but like the old saying goes… good things come to those who wait.  Well, I pray it does. <sigh>

Below you can find the products I used to create both cards.

Love to each!!

Fearless of Blendabilities?

Fearless of Blendabilities?

Have you tried our new Alcohol Ink Markers- Stampin’ Blendabilities? If you haven’t yet I hope I can help subside any fear you have with them today.

Now don’t get too excited yet.  I’m not showing anything EARTH shattering although I did a short dance when I completed this card due to excitement.

You might be asking yourself why do I WANT to use them??

Getting to Know Blendabilities

If you love to color then Blendabilities are going to rock your world.  Each color comes with 3 shades of the color.  It’s pretty simple to follow- Light, Medium & Dark.
Blendabilities are perfect for blending and shading Stampin’ Up! line art stamp sets.

What do you need to get started?

Whisper White cardstock is the perfect paper to get started with.  Stampin’ Up! Whisper White cardstock is SUPER smooth and soaks up the ink from Blendabilities perfectly.

You will also want to use a Memento Black Ink Pad to stamp the line art.  Once stamped you are ready to start coloring.

If you are new to using Blendabilities, today’s card will be perfect for you to start with.

Life in the Forest, Stampin' Up!, Blendabilities

I used the Life in the Forest stamp set to create this card.  Once I stamped the trees and Raccoon I was ready to finish the rest of the card.

This View is Amazing!

This View is Amazing!

Good morning from Iowa.  It’s a beautiful Saturday morning.  As I sit on the porch this morning with my coffee, this was my view.

Balloon Festival, Indianola Iowa Balloon Festival, Indianola Iowa

It’s pretty magical seeing these balloons fly over the house.  It’s even more magical when you think they are going to land in the field next to the house.

The kids are loving their time here.  They can run like the wind, ride the golf carts and feed the horses.  We are excited we will catch the Iowa State Fair while we are here too.

I’m taking this vacation very seriously.  I took TWO naps yesterday.  It’s been a long time since I’ve literally just laid out lazy like that.  Typically on a vacation it’s go go go.  We told Russ’ parents we were looking forward to REST.  They have been very accommodating.

Of course I have projects to share and I’m a little stir crazy knowing my Holiday Mini products will be arriving soon without me to open.  Ahhhh.  **You know you can order too if you become a demonstrator.  You can also choose Holiday Mini products for your kit!  It’s such a great opportunity to become a demonstrator right now.  Why not get a discount on the best crafting supplies out there? Amazing Birthday, Stampin' Up!

This set just gets better and better the more I use it.  I love using color combinations that make the focal point of this set really stand out.

Amazing Birthday, Stampin' Up!

I used the Striped Scallop Thinlit on this card.  Love how this framelit works.  It’s very delicate.  I can’t wait to try putting Designer Paper behind it.
