Spring Break Beach Days

I know here in the USA many are enjoying spring break.  Our spring break was a few weeks ago and the funny thing is, the beach was never seen.  I’m not sure how that happened, but we did enjoy 4 days seeing Mickey.

Living here in the Florida panhandle, you know the time frame for spring break.  Getting anywhere in our little town of Pensacola means you might take longer than the average 15 minutes.  Beach traffic is high but I have to say it brings me happiness.  I love to see so many people come to enjoy our beautiful white sandy beaches.  They are simply beautiful.

Day at the Beach

Spring Break, Day at the Beach, Stampin' Up!

If you missed yesterday’s post using the Day at the Beach stamp set, make sure to see the other card I created with this set HERE. This stamp is so much fun and especially with the beautiful line art.

The images from this set are simple to watercolor with a Blender Pen or Aqua Painter and the line art makes fussy cutting quick and easy.

Tips & Tricks

A few tips to create this card.

  • I started this card with a Whisper White Thick cardstock base 4-1/4″ x 11.  Then I added Daffodil Delight cardstock 4″ x 5-1/4″ as a card layer along with a piece of Gold Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate over the Daffodil Delight at an angle.
  • I created a background for the stamped images by using a piece of Watercolor Paper and creating a fun watercolor wash using Crumb Cake ink.
  • The images were stamped onto Whisper White cardstock then watercolored using a Blender Pen.  I fussy cut each of the images.

  • Lastly, the greeting comes from the hostess stamp set Iconic Occasions.  It’s in the Occasions catalog on page 3.  I love these tiny greetings perfect for banners.

Now the question is…. what are you doing for spring break? Are you going to enjoy the beach? Disney? Or maybe the best spring break to me is a staycation.  Ahhh… to just sleep in my bed past 7am!
