Have you ever had a day when you got up and just knew the day was going to spiral out of control?
The last two days thats what happened. I guess my time was coming. I haven’t had any calamities in awhile. I was due.
In the grand scheme of things they were petty things happening but nonetheless made me tell the Prince and Gem’s to be nice to me because I was feeling on the side of crazy.
Literally, it was a matter of getting out of bed and anything I touched either broke, crashed or just plain didn’t WORK. By the end of the day I didn’t want to touch anything.
My computer has PMS. Combine that with my pre menopausal body and that right there is a NIGHTMARE! My favorite friend – AKA iPhone- went cray cray. Locked up, couldn’t text… AHHHHHH! See, they are all petty but for some reason these silly little things pushed me right over the crazy cliff.
Of course the biggest obstacle was jumping back into work…. the biggest reason I spiraled out of control!
Ya know, it’s funny when you have been out of the loop from business and you jump back in. You would think after 10 years of doing this it would be like riding a bike. Easy peasy to jump back on and pedal fast. I will admit this is not the case for me and I fell off the bike a dozen times. I was finishing up my Stamps in the Mail for the month and editing the videos and felt completely LOST.
I had to perform a little self talk. Do you do this?
My chat went something like this… “Blondie… what are YOU thinking? YOU know how to do this. WHY are you having a FREAK out?” The good news is each time I fell off my bike I got back up. I finished my work and told myself to stop being a PERFECTIONIST!! <—–NOT easy!
Now that you REALLY know I’m crazy let me show you another thing that can spiral out of control. My card with the stamp set Spiral Spins. I love it.
I’m loving playing with Vellum right now. This card I used the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die with Vellum Cardstock. **LOVE**
This was a great way to have my Designer Paper peek out through the Hexagon openings.
I used the Spiral Spins on a 2 1/2″ Whisper White Circle punch using Real Red, Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar ink. I love this color combination.
Tip: When using the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die with Vellum, you may need a “shim” under your clear plate to give a little more pressure when cutting it. Every Big Shot is different so I recommend cutting a practice piece first to see how your die cuts through the Vellum. Remember, Stampin’ Up! Vellum Cardstock is THICK and fabulous. Best on the market…
Tip: Using the Spiral Spins stamp set is much more FUN to spiral out of control than the way I did. Check out this stamp set in my Online Store HERE.
Here are a few great ways to use this stamp set:
- as a background for a card or scrapbook page
- stamping then punching individual spirals and layering
- Use the spirals as the letter “O” for scrapbook titles.
- Combine the spirals with the Circles Collection Famelits Page 186 of the catalog
- Look at the spirals as “candy” instead of circles. That could be a fun card.
As with many stamps, you have one stamp set with a lot of great ideas to use it. Click HERE to see another card I created using Spiral Spins.
