Post Christmas Happenings

Christmas day was amazing spent with family.

After we attended our morning church service we came home to unwrap the gifts.

Brandon and Alexis enjoyed all of their gifts and the day couldn’t have been more perfect.

It’s the day after Christmas that cracks me up.  We are typically low key, relaxing around the house playing with our new toys.

It also brings on a post Christmas purge.  Not just for me but for the kids too.

I’ve already cleaned out my closest, and my office.  Oh my WORD.  The stuff… the STUFF!!!

Relax and Unwind

These last few weeks we have been on overdrive.  I’m sure each of us could say this same thing.  I adore the Christmas season, but I have to admit that the “busy” gets overwhelming.

I wish I could fit in all of the festivities that I want, but the closer we get to Christmas the more exhausted I feel.

It’s nice to chill out at home without an agenda.

Although we have some scheduled events coming up, the big plan is to RELAX.

I’m looking forward to some peaceful creating time.

Hello …Vertical Garden

I wanted to share another card I created for the display at OnStage using the Vertical Garden stamp set.

This big hello image is perfect to use with our Ombre’ stamp pads.

The image is a two step stamp.  I stamped the solid hello image first, then added the second image which outlines the word hello using Bermuda Bay ink.

I love how the Vellum butterflies added a soft touch to this card.  The butterflies were punched using the Elegant Butterfly punch.

Quick Tips

  • Attaching Vellum to cardstock can be tough because you don’t want to see the adhesive.  To overcome this little problem, I try to find a way to hide the adhesive.  I placed a Mini Glue Dot in the center of the Vellum butterfly and attached to the card.  Then I attached the gold Enamel Dot over the same area where you could see the Mini Glue Dot.  This was a perfect way to hide the adhesive.
  • The Ombre’ stamp pads are a fantastic addition to our inks. To get a perfect Ombre’ look when using these pads, simply tap your stamp image in tiny circles onto the pad and then stamp your image.  The small circular motion will allow a nice even and clean image when stamping.

This stamp set has been a joy to create with and one that you can use for many different projects.  If you are looking for more ideas using this set make sure to check out this post HERE.
