Post Christmas Happenings

Post Christmas Happenings

Christmas day was amazing spent with family.

After we attended our morning church service we came home to unwrap the gifts.

Brandon and Alexis enjoyed all of their gifts and the day couldn’t have been more perfect.

It’s the day after Christmas that cracks me up.  We are typically low key, relaxing around the house playing with our new toys.

It also brings on a post Christmas purge.  Not just for me but for the kids too.

I’ve already cleaned out my closest, and my office.  Oh my WORD.  The stuff… the STUFF!!!

Relax and Unwind

These last few weeks we have been on overdrive.  I’m sure each of us could say this same thing.  I adore the Christmas season, but I have to admit that the “busy” gets overwhelming.

I wish I could fit in all of the festivities that I want, but the closer we get to Christmas the more exhausted I feel.

It’s nice to chill out at home without an agenda.

Although we have some scheduled events coming up, the big plan is to RELAX.

I’m looking forward to some peaceful creating time.

Hello …Vertical Garden

I wanted to share another card I created for the display at OnStage using the Vertical Garden stamp set.

This big hello image is perfect to use with our Ombre’ stamp pads.

Post Christmas, Vertical Garden, Stampin' Up!

The image is a two step stamp.  I stamped the solid hello image first, then added the second image which outlines the word hello using Bermuda Bay ink.

I love how the Vellum butterflies added a soft touch to this card.  The butterflies were punched using the Elegant Butterfly punch.

Post Christmas, Vertical Garden, Stampin' Up!

Quick Tips

  • Attaching Vellum to cardstock can be tough because you don’t want to see the adhesive.  To overcome this little problem, I try to find a way to hide the adhesive.  I placed a Mini Glue Dot in the center of the Vellum butterfly and attached to the card.  Then I attached the gold Enamel Dot over the same area where you could see the Mini Glue Dot.  This was a perfect way to hide the adhesive.
  • The Ombre’ stamp pads are a fantastic addition to our inks. To get a perfect Ombre’ look when using these pads, simply tap your stamp image in tiny circles onto the pad and then stamp your image.  The small circular motion will allow a nice even and clean image when stamping.

This stamp set has been a joy to create with and one that you can use for many different projects.  If you are looking for more ideas using this set make sure to check out this post HERE.

Vertical Garden

Vertical Garden- More Great Ideas

There is nothing like starting the week with a bang.

Today I’m sharing three ideas using the Vertical Garden stamp set.

The Vertical Garden images can make quite an impact on ANY project.

Let’s Get Started!

One of the great things about the Vertical Garden stamp set is how the images can fit any type of project.

For instance, I’ve created three different projects today including a welcome baby card, hello card and even a scrapbook page.

Vertical Garden, Stampin' Up!

Creating this first card, I was a little giddy with the frames in the background.

I love the Pop of Pink Designer Paper and it was perfect addition to this card.  Realizing the black and white stripe would probably be a little too drastic in color I decided to place a piece of Vellum over the designer paper to soften the look.

Vertical Garden, Stampin' Up!

The Vertical stamp set, a two step stamp set was fun to use with Whisper White craft ink and the Watermelon Wonder ink.  SO pretty and SO soft.

Vertical Garden- Welcome Baby

Vertical Garden, Stampin' Up!

Finally, a stamp set with an image that can open many doors.  Welcome baby, welcome home, welcome love… the list can go on with a simple “welcome!”

Vertical Garden, Stampin' Up!

This stamp set worked beautifully with the Made with Love stamp set.  The baby onesies were stamped and then die cut using the Baby’s First Framelits.  A quick and simple card for a beautiful new baby.

Scrapbook it!

Finally, the scrapbook page.  Wow, it’s been a long time since I created a traditional scrapbook page.

Vertical Garden, Stampin' Up!

Vertical Garden stamp set provided the perfect title and background for this layout about Paris.  Just like the welcome image, you can only image the phrases you can create with the hello image.  Hello Paris created a perfect title for my layout.

Vertical Garden, Stampin' Up!

I paired the hello image with the Labeler Alphabet to spell “Paris”.  Think of all of the words you can create to pair with both the hello and welcome stamp images.  WOW.

Your Choice with Vertical Garden

When I create with any stamp set, I’m always looking for the different ways it can be used.  This simple stamp set, created to pair with the Vertical Garden Project Kit has so much more to give.  Truly a set that can be used on many great projects.

Vertical Garden will be available on January 4th when the Occasions Catalog goes LIVE.  It will be an exciting day as we start a BIG promotion with Sale-a-Bration at the same time.  I’ve heard through the grapevine that the Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs are rolling into mail boxes.  ohhhhwwwweeeeee.  This is so exciting.  It’s almost here.  It’s almost HERE!!!

Meanwhile… may your Monday be spectacular as we head into this last week before Christmas.  I’m still working on a few projects and hoping that I’ll be finished in time.

My secret this week will be this…  a big attitude of “let it be!”  In other words, I know there will be things that WILL NOT get done.  L

Vertical Garden Stamp Set-Sneak Peek

Vertical Garden Stamp Set-Sneak Peek

I have another fun sneak peek from the Occasions Catalog today!

This time I’m pulling out one of the samples I created using the Vertical Garden stamp set.

This stamp set coordinates with a project kit, however I created a ton of projects not using the kit.

This goes to show how versatile a stamp set can be and the many other ways you can use it.

Hello Friend

Vertical Garden, Sneak Peek, Stampin' Up!

One of the great things about this set is the fonts.  There are 7 photopolymer images that come with this set.  There are two words (Hello & Welcome) as well as a few other beautiful images.

The Vertical Garden stamp set is a two step stamp set, however today I’m using it “one way!”

Vertical Garden, Sneak Peek, Stampin' Up!

Tips & Tricks

  • The “hello” image was stamped using the Bermuda Bay Ombre Stampin’ Pad.  To achieve the Ombre look with these pads simply tap the image to the ink in tiny circular motions.  It works every single time!
  • The “friend” image is from the Crazy About You stamp set.  Tons of greetings to choose from and I love the sweet and simple fonts in this stamp set.
  • I paired the Fabulous Foil Designer Series Paper over the Serene Scenery Designer Series paper.  I love how this created a beach look.
  • To keep the Foil and DSP intact, I stapled them to the Whisper White cardstock layer.  This way no adhesive shows through your Fabulous Foil Acetate.
  • The banner scallops were created using the Layering Squares Framelits.  Die cut a scallop square and then cut to fit your banner.  These tiny scallops create a beautiful embellishment.

Embellishments I Love

A few simple embellishments were added to finish the card:

  • Delicate White Doilies
  • Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon

The Vertical Garden stamp set will be available on January 4th, 2017.  This set will be perfect for card makers and scrapbookers with these large word images.  I have a scrapbook page I’ll share soon.  It’s a favorite of mine already.

Stopping In To Say Hello

Stopping In To Say Hello

A quick hello today and another card using the Pop of Pink Suite.

Hello, Pop of Paradise, Stampin' Up!

Keeping it Simple!

I kept this card very simple and I think the colors and images pack a great punch.

I love the Cucumber Crush, Melon Mambo and Basic Black together.  It’s so classy.

Hello, Pop of Paradise, Stampin' Up!

The Pop of Pink Specialty paper creates the background for this card with another strip of the paper giving the pop of pink.  I love how bright the Cucumber Crush is against the pink and black. WOW.

Hello, Pop of Paradise, Stampin' Up!

A few circle punches and a little fussy cutting of the leaf and this card was complete.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Pop of Pink Suite?

Circle of Spring- Magical Moment!

Circle of Spring- Magical Moment!

I just had a magical moment with my Circle of Spring stamp set and I’m super excited that I can share it with all of you.

It’s also an Artisan Blog Hop day which makes this a double bonus.  We should all break out in dancing and cheer now. Really!

I was going through my Artisan box of love that came in the mail and trying to figure out what I would use to create for this hop and when you aren’t feeling the creativity it can be a little overwhelming to know what to pull and create with.

Down deep in my box was the stamp set Circle of Spring.  This one sweet stamp set flooded my brain with ideas and literally the magic began.

Circle of Spring, Stampin' Up!

Before I even had the paper out, I had the idea floating in my head.  I wanted all the things I love.

  • Typeset Designer Series Paper
  • Watercoloring
  • Tiny trinkets like pearls, tiny flowers, and very thin Washi Tape from a Project Life kit
  • Doilies… it’s always on my favorites list

With everything set in front of me, I jumped in.

Circle of Spring, Stampin' Up!

Creating Joy!

As I said earlier when I first started this project I had to dig deep into my Artisan box to find this little gem of a stamp set, Circle of Spring.  I also had to dig deep to find my creativity. When that moment finally kicked in and the magic began to happen- I felt GREAT about the project I was creating… it brings joy. SO MUCH JOY!!

I hope it brings joy to you.  Circle of Spring is a beautiful stamp set, perfect for this season.  The wreath can be created in numerous ways and one that I will be using many more times.

It’s time to see what my friend Krista has designed for our Artisan Blog Hop.  She always has something magical up her sleeve.
