Little Moments Matter- Watercolor Wings
It’s always the little moments that matter to me. Sure, I love big moments too.
It seems like the little moments make me stop, reflect and typically bring me more joy.
Can you relate?
Yesterday was a case in point.
We have a friend that helps us now and then with our big 200 gallon saltwater fish tank. This tank is truly a piece of happy to me. It’s also a big job to take care of. Our water filter system needed new filters and to make a long story short…. this guy came to our rescue. He took the time yesterday to help me with something outside of what I was paying him to do and ultimately that little thing brought me extreme joy.
It didn’t take him long however it was something he had not planned. He made a difference doing something so little.
Yes, little moments matter.
Watercolor Wings
Watercolor Wings is a beautiful stamp set and I love the greetings that go along with it. This is one of those sets that makes me smile because it has beautiful greetings and beautiful butterfly images. SCORE!
I have a new favorite paper I’m playing with right now- Shimmery White Cardstock. OH so fun and beautiful.
This paper is great for watercolor.
Tips & Tricks
Here are a few tips when creating this card.
- I did a simple watercolor wash using my Aqua Painter. To do this simply load your brush with the color of choice and gently go back and forth moving the brush in a downward stroke. By moving the brush down while moving you will notice a brighter color when you begin and lighter as your brush continues downward. The shimmery paper gives it a shimmer look when it’s dry.
- I used Calypso Coral, So Saffron and Pink Pirouette inks
- The White thread you see coiled behind the greeting is a single strand pulled from the White Jute ribbon. I love this stuff. I never seem to use the entire ribbon alone as it tends to be too wide for me to use. Instead I pull the threads and use them in other ways.
I love the spring colors for this card. I typically do not use So Saffron for anything so it was nice to pull that color into this card and the best is I really liked it.
These colors just scream soft, delicate and spring.
