You might be laughing uncontrollably by that title. It surely wasn't "just like that!" In fact it was more like… "and 6 weeks later she rose from the hundreds of boxes to find her stamps!"
So it took me a little longer to get on the correct path again but honestly it wasn't just my stamp room that was holding me back. It was a multitude of things. Besides not knowing where anything was in my studio I also didn't know where anything was in the house.
There are still a few spots (more like rooms) that are not at all put together but they can stay in a nice holding pattern. I have to tell you that YES, I have missed the normal routine of getting up and starting my day in my studio, but I've also immensly enjoyed the routine of putting our house together and even more the fun times I'm spending with my family.
It's the little things that are so big to me. My mom "popping" into see Alexis at gymnastics, or walks on the beach with her. Or my dad's pop up visits to my house. These things make me smile and I still have that need to pinch myself.
My dad smiled at me the other day and said, "I'm so happy you are home." I felt like I was 5 years old and cried.
At some point you have to gently glide back into work. I've been grateful for having Stampin' Up! in my life during this time. I've been able to work behind the scenes on things while spending the majority of my time on my house. My bond for my business and my company- Stampini' Up!- just became stronger. I do love what I do and SO SO grateful everyday for building my business over the last 10 years.
SO, the most exciting thing happened this weekend. I finally made it back in my studio.
I was so excited about creating that my brain couldn't keep up with the ideas and then just like that … NOTHING! Yes, nothing. I had no ideas. I had all the components to create something great… just no mojo leaking through to create it.
THIS is what happens sadly to someone like me (and I'm sure YOU) when you have put creating on the back burner.
Oh my geez. Very sad day.
Just like last week when I was frustrated with the rebuilding of my studio and I walked away, I did it again. I walked away and came back with a vengence. It's very therapeutic and my brain was ready. I was also mad as hell that my brain shut off my creativity. It's not supposed to do that. I wasn't mad for too long….
I decided to fire up my laptop and get crankin' on one holiday I love to create for… Halloween. Poor Heather has been wanting to do a Hybrid challenge for our Simply My Digital Studio Challenge group for WEEKS. I've put her off for a terribly long time because there was no printer or Silhouette that could help me in my "hybrid" project.
Last night I fired up my Silhouette. If you heard a squeal, it was ME! The best part is I remembered how to use it. Phew!
Yes, I know not everyone is a Halloween fan, but this girl just loves to create Halloweenie things. Bare with me today.
I started by exporting the skull from the Simply Created Halloween Banner Digital Art. I decided to cut two skulls, one with all the details, the other I used the trace tool just around the skull image.
You can see in the image below the red line is only around the outer portion of the skull. Note that the eyes are not outlined.
In the photo below you can see the entire image has a red outine. There are lots of little details on this SVG image. I wanted to see all of it.
Once the digital images were cut using the Silhouette, I placed the image with the cut eyes on top of the other skull head. I used this as my guide on where to place the Rhinestones. Once complete I placed the skull witih cut eyes onto the other using dimensionals.
The dimensionals gave the image great depth. I love how this turned out.
Now it was time to put the pieces together and make a card. This card didn't take long at all and especially using the Silhouette.
I completed this card with so many of my favorite products. You can see them in my supply list below. Now it's time to work on a new Halloween Banner and find my favorite Halloween decorations.

Yay! You're BACK!!! Now don't ever move again!
Welcome back! Do we get to see pictures of your new studio?
Thank goodness you're "back"! I was beginning to wonder. I'm not surprised at the chaos that you had when unpacking. I, too, am in a creative whirlwind so i'm really looking forward to your energy and inspiration.
Thank goodness! So glad to see your banner appear and can't wait to see your inspiring creations. While you were away I had a bouncing baby blog that went "Live" today. I hope you will visit and see what you think. Just remember, I've been following your blog forever and mine is just a baby….
