Jolly Christmas -I’m Ready!

Jolly Christmas -I’m Ready!

Feeling Jolly yet?

Thanksgiving has now passed and I’m sure I gained about 5 pounds from the amount of pies I consumed.

I was in a food coma about 15 minutes after I sat down to eat and the thought of the clean up made me ill.  I was thankful that my mother was here to help in the kitchen.  She made the task much faster.  It’s a tradition to sit around the living room and browse the Black Friday ad’s trying to find something for us to join all the other crazies to shop with.

Not all of my family enjoys the Black Friday shopping like Russ, my mom and I.  They can only think of the chaotic mess that typically you find the stores.  We do things a bit different.  We typically do not even start until 10am.  This only means I’ve missed the doorbuster sales but who cares.

I did look like a crazy woman in JcPenny’s.  We walked in at 1:25pm.  Ironically we landed around the shoe department.  The area was a DISASTER.  Instantly I felt compelled to help the workers clean up the area.  Shoes and boots were everywhere.  The faces of these workers looked tired but they were smiling. From the looks of the shoe department I’m not even sure I could muster a smile like these wonderful ladies.

It was then I noticed a small sign….

Sale ends at 2pm.

I looked at my watch and we now had 20 minutes to find the correct size boot because they were on sale for $20.

In those 20 minutes, I managed to find my size in the color I wanted without a box. Last minute nelly here had success!!   I made it to the counter with one minute to spare.

After about 6 hours of shopping with my mother and daughter I came home completely POOPED out.

I hit the couch and 4 hours later I woke up.  Then went right back to bed.  I guess I needed a few more winks than I had been getting.

Getting into the Jolly Christmas Mood

Finally I had a minute to stamp.  Even though I should have been putting Christmas decorations up, I opted to clean the house and stamp.

Now I can say I’m in a jolly Christmas mood.  Yippie!!

Jolly Christmas, Winter Wishes, Stampin' Up!

I wanted to use a stamp that has not seen a lot of ink love.  Winter Wishes was the first stamp set that came to mind.  I’ve used this set a few times but not enough.

Create It

After stamping three of the main images I fussy cut them and layered them together and attached using an Antique Brad.

I decided to use the Holly Jolly Greetings for the greeting on this card.  Once I stamped all of the word images in Early Espresso I decided to trim them close and layer them onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

I gave them each a little spritz with an Aqua Painter and Re-Inker and then used a little Gold Smooch spritz (retired) to glam it up a bit more.

Get this… I also used my Brick Texture Embossing Folder.  Never used…

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME??? That’s the cutest thing ever.  I have a few other ideas planned for that Brick folder.

You can see all the products I used below.

Feeling Jolly Now

  1. I love that you helped the JC Penny salespeople clean up! I like to do that kind of stuff too! That is showing God’s love in a practical way. It is wonderful to put GOOD back into the world.
