Home for Christmas- Stampin’ Up!

Home for Christmas- Stampin’ Up!

For years and years, Home for Christmas was the big topic around the September/October time frame.  Russ and I would sit (actually I would pout) and try to figure out if going home for Christmas was feasible.

Now that we are literally home for Christmas all the time I’m reminded that not everyone has the ability to be home and of course many of our troops are away from their families during this time. I hope during this glorious season we can be reminded of the sacrifices that others make to keep us safe, healthy and happy (such as those pilots getting us to our homes).  Something I thought about doing this year is finding a family who’s spouse is deployed and bringing them a treat. I’m hoping Russ can help me out with this.

Home for Christmas Suite

If I get the chance to love and spoil a military spouse and their kids , this card is going to be with my treat.  I love the greeting…. “May the Magic of the Season Fill Your Heart and Home.” There were many many years that Russ was deployed during Christmas.  Although miles and miles away, he was definitely with us in spirit and in our hearts.

There is no doubt I am going to miss this gorgeous paper in the Home for Christmas Suite.  I’m pretty sure this paper could go into my hoarding pile.  You know… that pile that sits in a corner and you look at it, touch it and might occasionally smell it.  Oh how I love it.

The Cozy Christmas stamp set has great images in it and perfect for creating Christmas tags.

One product I used on this card that I haven’t used much are the Home for Christmas Enamel Dots.  They are so pretty and definitely need a bit more use.

To create this card I decided to stamp the greeting 3 times using 3 different colors.  Then I could highlight the different words.  Another way to create this would be to use markers.  Color each of the words in the colors you wish and then huff the stamp to moisten the ink. Then stamp away.  I wanted to add a bit more texture to the card so I thought this would be the best way.

Let’s remember those that cannot be with their loved ones this year.  Brighten someones day with a card or little treat.  There are many around us that could use this and what a great opportunity for us as crafters.

You can see all of the products I used for this card below in the clickable links.
