Happy Little Birds

Just a quick post tonight.  I'm emotionally drained from the day.  The good: All the stuff is packed up and on it's way to the new house! The bad: Saying good bye!  Heart wrenching.  I watched my little girl say good bye to her best friend today and I cried.  Then tonight it was back to back good byes that just SUCKED.  Again, I know I will see many of these friends again.  I just won't have these great friends around all the time like I've had.  Sigh!

Tonight's card doesn't have new stuff actually.  I was going through pics of cards I had made and wanted to share this one because I think it's fitting for how I feel today.  Honestly, I made this card for my dad's birthday which is at the end of the month. The birds however look like our little family today.  Big Birdie Dad and the rest of his flock following him.  That pretty much sums it up! 🙂

  1. I read a great quote once by Dr. Suess…
    "Don't cry because it's over
    Smile because it happened."
    Hope this helps!!

  2. Great Big Moving HUGS to you Kimberly…..our family has moved so many times, I truely know what you are going through.  I will never forget the sound of packing tape sealing up ALL the boxes, and of course the GOODBYES…ROUGH DAYS!  If you are like me you just want it to all be OVER!!!  Take care……..from Donna(your stalker)!

  3. 🙁  🙁 We have Navy neighbors leaving here as well, and I never know what to say…especially to my son who won't be able to run down the street to his friend's house anymore…and to the friend's mom who is a faithful stamping friend that comes to ALL my classes and picks up my kids when I've crammed too many things in one day.  🙂 Goodbyes are just sad. Hope your trip is safe and your family has lots of great stories to tell.

  4. Kimberly, goodbyes are never easy but think of all the new things you will recieve in return.  Have a safe trip and wish we could have met up in the middle to see each other, but will see you for sure Convention 2011, (yes, I will be looking for you!)

  5. Oh, Kimberly, I'm so sad for you!  I know how many times you've done this before, and I'm sure that it doesn't make it any easier!  I hope the excitement in the new city and house will help!

  7. This card reminds me of the Partridge family….so cute. Good luck with driving all week. I am so glad you are moving closer to me! Can't wait to see you next month.

  8. Oh, Kimberly…this does bring back memories. You know you will have lots of new friends in no time once you are unpacked on the other end. Doesn't ever make it easier leaving a place you have loved though.
