It's been another crazy week around this house. I have so much to tell you I'm not sure where to start! I last left telling you about Russ turning the BIG 40! We had a nice Halloween party/Birthday Bash for him on Saturday with many Navy friends from years past. It was such a GREAT time to see our friends we had not seen in so long. For some it was 8 years. WOW! Russ and I decided time was precious and no need to stress so we catered the food and that was one of the highlights of the party… until RUSS decided to really make the party a HIGHLIGHT! Let me tell you what Price Charming has done NOW!
He gathered our friends around in our kitchen and had the kids come stand with us. I noticed in the corner of my eyes someone had a video camera. Russ started to tell everyone that while he had turned the BIG 40, someone else in the house would be celebrating the same thing in just a few short days! That would be ME! We are only 12 days apart in age. He continued to tell everyone that he had surprised me a few weeks ago with a trip to Vegas. He had planned the entire thing. He continued to tell our friends and myself that he had booked the Venetian Hotel and it was going to be a blast, but he fibbed a bit and we were NOT staying there. He thought it would be nice if we stayed at the Paris Hotel. Of course by now I am looking at him perplexed and thinking to myself, "where is he going with all this?" He looks at me and says, "Honey, I couldn't get us in the Paris Hotel!" So we are staying at the Le Meridian Montparnase! He shows a picture of the hotel. The next paper he FLIPS…. is a flyer with Paris, France and the Eiffel Tower on the front. He looked at me and said, "WE are going to Paris, France BABY! Happy 40th Birthday!" At this point I would love to share the video with you. However when he looked at me to tell me the news I said a bad word. I just couldn't believe the whole thing. I've never been overseas and better yet I've never had someone surprise me with something that HUGE.! It's always been a dream. This is my king. Always making dreams happen. After being married to him for 14 years he has never been this crazy. To me this is just over the top CRAZY! This is why I love him. How this man has put up with me for 14 years God only knows. Russ is like a daily dose of Prozac for me. He just makes everything better. After the crazy antics of this move…nothing sounds better right now than a trip away with the man that makes life GRAND!
So onward… While I had the party catered I was silly excited about the cupcakes that I made. It's the ONLY thing I made for the party. I felt so "Martha" that day. Let me show you why!
I made labels for all the food with a Halloween Theme to them. It was fun and the kids thought I was a genius. That tickles me.
Speaking of the kids… My little Warlocks dressed as mighty pirates. They had so much fun.
No, she isn't mad. That was her Pirate attitude! So female she IS!
So that was the excitement this past weekend.
Moving on to stamping related thingies…
Many of you asked for more Organizational tips. I will try to provide you with some here an there to help you. My biggest tip when it comes to supplies is having your supplies OUT where you can see them. I know that it may "look" good in a drawer but if it's there I will never use it because I forgot about it. I love antique dishes so I keep many of the emellishments I use all the time in these dishes. For instance, BUTTONS! I think at least every card I make has one button on it. I go through buttons like they are coffee.
I love keeping my single stamps in a basket and then I can just grab and stamp. I get much more use out of them.
Another thing I use TONS of are they background stamps. LOVE THESE. I keep them out on a shelf and they are used all the time.
I hope a few of these tips help you.
I've been a serious stamper lately. Here is a card made with the Day of Gratitude stamp set. Currently it's one of my favorite stamp sets.
I love that Marina Mist. It's so pretty!
I hope your week is terrific. Mine is super busy but always something good going on.
